CRAFT BEER EVENT and FISCH&FEINES offer firm and liquid pleasures

 

“Water also becomes a noble drop, if you mix it with malt and hops,” the vernacular rhymes. Visitors can convince themselves of this at the CRAFT BEER EVENT in Hall 3 of MESSE BREMEN. From Friday to Sunday, 4th to 6th November 2022, artisanal breweries gather to inspire the audience for well-groomed beers. For the good basis in front of the handle to the glass, there is a wide gastronomic offer in the ÖVB Arena and Hall 2 as well as in front of Hall 3.

In Hall 3, visitors can convince themselves of the creativity of brewers. This starts with some names of the beers – such as Margin Call,aked Shorts, Hanse 2.0 or Holland’s Hope. Even if many barley juices are called simpler, craft beer fans will certainly come across beers that will surprise them. Probably only connoisseurs may have drunk Belgian Quadruple or Imperial Smoked Porter, for example. Such beers can be found at a Dutch joint stand.

 

Incidentally, the brewer trainees are coming out big this time. Together with their teacher, Boris von Schaewen, they are once again designing a stand with various information. The Bremer Union Brewery, on the other hand, brews a special trade fair beer with its trainees in the run-up to the fair.

 

The CRAFT BEER EVENT will take place for the seventh time as part of the FISCH&FEINES gourmet fair. Fish and seafood have always played a major role here. A special attraction: On Sunday of the fair, interested parties auction freshly caught plaice and other species at reasonable prices at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

 

But meat lovers will not be disappointed either – for example, they can taste Biltong for the first time. The dried meat does not come from South Africa like the original, but from species-appropriate cattle in northwest Germany. Vegetables, cheese, spices and delicatessen such as chutneys, mustards or sauces are also available in a large selection – as well as lemonades and juices, wines and high-proofs. What unites all products: They are predominantly handmade and have undergone a strict quality inspection. “This distinguishes us from comparable trade fairs in the north,” says Julia Schröder, project manager at MESSE BREMEN.

 

Perhaps the numerous new offers are particularly interesting for regular guests of the gourmet fair. Still unfamiliar: Food from insects, which are considered an important source of food for the future due to their high protein content. For the first time in Bremen, dried migratory locusts or mealworms can be tasted as crunch topping for ice cream creations or a spread sausage from grills in the style of Palatinate liver sausage.

 

Added value through the trade fair trio

 

At the same time, the trade fairs ReiseLust and CARAVAN Bremen take place in the neighboring halls. The joint ticket costs 11 euros online from mid-September, reduced 9.50 euros. 13 euros are to be paid on site, reduced 11.50 euros. Friday from 3 p.m. admission costs 5 euros online, 7 euros on site. For the CRAFT BEER EVENT, a solo ticket including trial swallow can be purchased (online 5 euros, on site 7 euros). It is valid on Friday and Saturday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
