Under the motto #shareyourvision, the “Who’s Who” of the imaging industry meets at PHOTOPIA in the Hanseatic city. From 13th to 16th October 2022, the port city on the Elbe will thus become a mecca for star photographers, media professionals, influencers as well as photo and film enthusiasts.
In a few weeks, PHOTOPIA Hamburg will open its doors at the Hamburg exhibition center with a concentrated offer. After the successful premiere last year, which was celebrated by the whole industry, the organizers have fulfilled their promise and are adding one more in terms of lineup. The unique atmosphere of the approximately 350 shipping containers forms the perfect setting for four inspiring days.

Top-class photography and new social media trends
Rankin already had greats such as David Bowie, Kate Moss, Kendall Jenner and Heidi Klum in front of the camera: His portfolio ranges from portraits and fashion photography to documentary photography. At PHOTOPIA, he shows two exhibitions with “Icons” and “Selfie Harm” and is interview guest on stage again at 15:00.
The photographer Esther Haase, who lives in Hamburg and London, grants the audience on Friday, the 14th. October, at 3:00 p.m., exciting insights into her successful career and her work in photography. Esther Haase has already photographed greats such as Vivienne Westwood, Angela Merkel and Karl Lagerfeld and has received many international awards for her work.
The German photographer Joachim Baldauf dedicates his own exhibition to PHOTOPIA. In the PHOTOPIA STREETSIDE GALLERY he presents “Zeitsprünge”, an impressive photo gallery from the Dorothea Mink collection. The photos show the surprising effect of modern fashion from the past. Joachim Baldauf will also be a guest on Saturday, the 15th. October, at 3:00 p.m.
His face knows almost the whole of Germany: Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday Markus Lanz offers a wide range of guests and topics in his talk show. The popular talkmaster is also an author, podcaster and a gifted and passionate photographer. Lanz talks about how he came to the hobby of photography and how he photographs on Sunday the 16th. October at 2:00 p.m., on the PHOTOPIA stage.
Millions of followers and new business models for the digital imaging scene
It is a success story, as only the creator economy writes it: With the aim of one day publishing her own cookbook, Maya Leinenbach starts on Instagram in 2019 and cooks herself with her reels during the pandemic within a very short time via Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Pinterest into the hearts of millions of people around the world. The Saarlander can be experienced live at “From Maya’s mind to fitgreenmind: The perfect reel for Instagram” on Saturday, the 15th. October, at 1:00 p.m.
Karo Kauer is one of the best-known influencers in Germany – and is now building several brands with her company in her tranquil hometown of Eislingen. On the PHOTOPIA stage, she will give on Saturday, the 15th. October at 4:30 p.m., an insight into the creator economy, which creative ideas are currently best received and tells how it now makes millions in sales independent of advertising partners.
Younes Zarou is one of the most successful creators in Germany – on a wide variety of platforms. On Sunday, the 16th October at 4:30 p.m., he takes the audience into the world of TikTok during a live production and shows how the requirements for content on social media have developed, what special technical challenges there are in production and how the social media business will develop in the future.
Clock: Star DJ and renowned speakers
The performance of star DJ David Puentez should also be an absolute highlight. On two evenings (14. + 15. October), the stage is thus one of the most successful German dance acts, which has long since worked as a remixer for international superstars.
At the Creative Content Conference at the PHOTOPIA Summit, well-known greats of photography also impart their valuable knowledge. The speakers include Robert Maschke, the documentary photographers of DOCKS Collective, Paul Hüttemann, Simon Puschmann and Bob Sala. The three-day conference is aimed at professional photographers and content creators and deals with the current trends in photo and video production.

From 13th to 16th October, PHOTOPIA Hamburg offers the digital imaging industry a new home.
