Stollen cut, Santa hats, mulled wine, sparkling decoration: At the Leipzig trade fairs CADEAUX and MIDORA 2022, you already felt transported to the Christmas season. In total, more than 350 exhibitors and brands presented products and trends for the most sales-selling time of the year. This put them in the interest of around 7,400 trade visitors. The first Christmas market in Germany accompanied the events.
“The opportunity to talk directly with business partners and to perceive lifestyle products with all senses was gladly accepted by visitors and rewarded with great interest,” says Martin Buhl-Wagner, Managing Director of Leipziger Messe GmbH. “This once again enabled CADEAUX and MIDORA to prove their role as important forums in the industry.”
Especially at CADEAUX, which is the 60th Once it was organized, it was very Christmas. “Despite tense consumer sentiment, we still have a high interest in the ‘beautiful things’ of life,” says project director Andreas Zachlod. “The topic of handicrafts and Erzgebirge wood art – traditionally one of the strongest segments of CADEAUX – was an important exhibition area for trade visitors. Products related to culinary enjoyment also enjoyed great demand.” According to Zachlod, interest in floristic offers has also increased. This was taken into account not least by the demonstrations at the Forum Floristik, which staged current trends for Christmas 2022.
Joint marketing initiative adopted
With a view to the upcoming events, a meeting “Future Fairs” took place as part of CADEAUX with representatives of exhibitor companies from the field of Erzgebirge folk art as well as the Leipzig Trade Fair. The companies involved voted clearly for continuing to operate CADEAUX as a trade fair platform for the industry in spring and autumn. A joint marketing initiative for 2023 was decided, which aims to further expand the offer, invite specialist dealers throughout Germany, highlight the advantages of the personal conversation and underline the role of CADEAUX Leipzig as a constant and reliable partner in the industry.
According to a survey by the independent Gelszus Messe-Marktforschung (GMM), CADEAUX Leipzig came mainly to trade visitors from Central Germany: 49 percent from Saxony, 18 percent from Thuringia and 14 percent from Saxony-Anhalt. Most wanted to find out about novelties and trends (69 percent) and maintain business contacts (53 percent), assuming 87 percent of their goals to have been achieved.
The next CADEAUX Leipzig will take place from the 18th to the 20th. February 2023. From 2nd to 4th September 2023, the trade fair association of CADEAUX and MIDORA invites you to Leipzig again.
