With therapie HAMBURG on the 28th and 29th October 2022, Leipziger Messe and Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH (HMC) will bring their successful platform for direct knowledge transfer to the Hamburg exhibition center for the third time. In the trade fair, both market leaders and start-ups present the latest product developments and innovations in the fields of therapy, medical rehabilitation and prevention. The congress also convinces with scientific lectures and seminars on the certified further training of physiotherapists, occupational and sports therapists as well as physiotherapists, masseurs and medical lifeguards. New this year is the parallelism to the 11th. Hamburg International Sports Congress.
Birgit Mücklich, project director of therapie HAMBURG, looks forward to the third edition of the event: “therapie HAMBURG has established itself as a trade fair for therapists in northern Germany. This shows us on the one hand the great interest of trade visitors and on the other hand a renewed growth of the exhibition offer and the exhibition space. We are looking forward to an exciting and diverse event.”
The combination of trade fair and congress makes the visit to therapie HAMBURG doubly attractive and promises an extensive trade fair and congress program. Trade visitors can also look forward to a new location, because therapie HAMBURG will take place for the first time this year in the newly opened Congress Center Hamburg (CCH) – one of the most modern congress centers in Europe.
therapie HAMBURG and International Hamburg Sports Congress – the partnership continues
What has already been achieved in online format for over two years, this time will once again find effective integration. “In 2021, we also carried out practice offers of the Sports Congress [KOMPAKT] for the first time in the program of therapie HAMBURG, which took place immediately before as a digital event,” explains Dörte Kuhn, chairman of the VTF – Association for Gymn “We are now continuing this successful cooperation in presence with our large International Hamburg Sports Congress and thus show how closely scientific foundations, therapeutic measures and prevention sports are.” This is reflected, among other things, by the joint opening event on the 28th. October with forward-looking impulses for the quality of healthy exercise offers.
The parallel orientation of therapie HAMBURG and the Sports Congress represents an asset for the participants of both events. The offers of therapie HAMBURG are supplemented by lectures and workshops from the fields of sports science and practice, as well as fitness and health sports. The participants of the sports congress receive free admission to the specialist exhibition of therapie HAMBURG and will find many suggestions when visiting the fair that will enrich them in their trainer and trainer activities.
Wide range of topics in congress and trade fair
More than 45 lectures, seminars and workshops in the congress and trade fair program await the participants at this year’s therapie HAMBURG. The congress offers of ptHOLIdays, the series of events of Richard Pflaum Verlag, enable certified further training and include the fields of medical rehabilitation, prevention, neurorehabilitation, rehabilitation and health sports as well as sports medicine and sports therapy. Scientists and therapists provide insights into current research results as well as their practical application on topics such as neurological gait rehabilitation, myofascial trigger point therapy, evidence-based tendon training or occlusion training (Blood Flow Restriction Training).
It will also be sporty and active on the action area in the middle of the trade fair. Here, around 20 active contributions invite you to get moving and try out therapy and exercise equipment yourself. Trade visitors can choose daily between dance workouts, holistic fascia training, neuroathletics, back training, Avi Mea or kettlebell training.
Science Slam Contest: Clear the stage for science
In the afternoon of the 28th October it will be informative and above all entertaining at therapie HAMBURG. In the lecture forum of the fair, the German Association for Physiotherapy, PHYSIO GERMANY, is holding a Science Slam Contest. Based on the classical poetry slam, the audience should be introduced to science in an entertaining and practical way.
Each science slam speaker has ten minutes to present his physiotherapy research topic. After the last slam lecture, the audience decides who wins the competition. The winner will be awarded prize money of 350 euros after the contest, the second best contribution will receive 150 euros.
In addition to the Science Slam Contest, the professional association is aimed at start-ups and practice with a congress contribution. Thomas von Hahn, board member of the northern network of PHYSIO-DEUTSCHLAND and long-standing co-owner of a large Hamburg practice, explains why his practice is going well from his point of view today and which paths and downs have helped him achieve this success.
Next generation – focus on young talent
The start into professional life can be full of hurdles. But it also offers diverse and multifaceted opportunities to make a great career after training – be it as an independent therapist or as a sports physiotherapist. At therapie HAMBURG, the Association for Physiotherapy (VPT) e.V. gives prospective therapists an insight into the possibilities for starting their career. The focus is on the topics “My first employment contract”, “Physiotherapy in professional sports”, “The dream of self-employment” and “My first salary”.
In addition, the VPT Landesgruppe Nord-West is involved in the trade fair program of therapie HAMBURG with several short lectures.
About the therapy series
As the largest trade fair with congress for therapy, medical rehabilitation and prevention in Germany, therapie LEIPZIG offers a complete market overview. In 2022, 307 exhibitors from 14 countries showed the 13,400 trade fair visitors their innovations and current industry trends at the Leipzig Trade Fair. The congress was used by physiotherapists and occupational therapists, speech therapists, trainers, doctors, sports scientists and sports therapists as well as executives of outpatient rehabilitation centers, acute and rehabilitation clinics from all over Germany for professional training and further education.
