Stollen cut, Santa hats, mulled wine, sparkling decoration: At the Leipzig trade fairs MIDORA and Herbst-CADEAUX 2022, you already felt transported to the Christmas season. In total, more than 350 exhibitors and brands presented products and trends for the most sales-selling time of the year. This put them in the interest of around 7,400 trade visitors. The first Christmas market in Germany accompanied the events.
“The opportunity to talk directly with business partners and to perceive lifestyle products with all senses was gladly accepted by visitors and rewarded with great interest,” says Martin Buhl-Wagner, Managing Director of Leipziger Messe GmbH. “This once again enabled CADEAUX and MIDORA to prove their role as important forums in the industry.”
Especially at CADEAUX, which is the 60th Once it was organized, it was very Christmas. “Despite tense consumer sentiment, we still have a high interest in the ‘beautiful things’ of life,” says project director Andreas Zachlod. The most important exhibition areas included handicrafts & Erzgebirge wood art, products related to culinary enjoyment as well as floristic offers.
Real jewelry made of gold and silver as well as watches in the middle price segment were the most requested products at MIDORA. Around 100 exhibitors and brands presented their latest collections here. Many trade visitors also took the opportunity to exchange ideas on technical and professional policy issues. For example, the Central Association for Watches, Jewelry and Timing Technology offered a well-frequented training seminar for watchmakers as well as lectures. At the autumn meeting of the Central Association of German Goldsmiths, Silversmiths and Jewelers e. V. around 20 senior masters from all over Germany met, while the association’s booth invited to the get-together.
“The appreciation for the fair has once again increased significantly,” says Albert Fischer, President of the Central Association for Watches, Jewelry and Timing Technology. “Unfortunately, being able to meet and exchange ideas in person at such industry events has not been a matter of course since Corona. Especially with emotional products such as jewelry and watches, it is important that you can see, feel, try them out.” According to Fischer, there have been good discussions and a very positive response to MIDORA.
According to a survey by the independent Gelszus Messe-Marktforschung (GMM), around 46 percent were regular or regular visitors to MIDORA. Almost 90 percent traveled from a distance of up to 300 kilometers. 85 percent of the top decision-makers were represented. Asked if they will visit MIDORA again, 92 percent answered yes. 90 percent want to recommend the trade fair.
The next MIDORA will take place from the 2nd to the 4th. September 2023 together with CADEAUX Leipzig.
