This year’s DMEXCO kicks off in Cologne with a high number of CEOs present: RTL Deutschland Co-CEO Matthias Dang, MediaMarktSaturn CEO Dr. Karsten Wildberger, and Google’s EMEA President Matt Brittin will open this year’s conference, hosted by Europe’s leading business platform for digital marketing, as keynote speakers. Prominent influencers such as Diana zur Löwen, Jonas Ems, and Rezo, as well as music stars including Jean-Michel Jarre (AERO Productions) and rapper and entrepreneur Giwar Hajabi, aka “Xatar”, (Goldmann Entertainment) complete the star-studded stage lineup for DMEXCO 2022. In addition, on September 22, visitors in Cologne will be offered a multifaceted program covering the creator economy, social media, and influencer marketing as part of the new “DMEXCO Social Talk” conference format. Following DMEXCO, on September 27, an exclusive digital event will be launched for the U.S. market in collaboration with Digiday Media.
DMEXCO, the meeting point for key decision makers from the digital economy, marketing, and innovation, stands out once again this year with a top-tier lineup of over 600 speakers. New additions to the expo include Tina Beuchler (Global Head of Media, Nestlé), Matt Brittin (EMEA President, Google), Matthias Dang (Co-CEO, RTL Deutschland), Yannis Dosios (CCO, Integral Ad Science), Brian Gleason (CRO, Criteo), Andreas Grün (Head of Technology Digital Media, ZDF), Simon Halstead (VP Exchange and Supply International, Yahoo), Visha Kudhail (Director of Business Marketing, EMEA Pinterest), Sandra Lopez (General Manager, CMO, Microsoft Advertising), and Adam Singolda (CEO, Taboola). DMEXCO 2022 will once again present a first-class, wide-ranging conference program, spanning a total of 14 stages. The first expo day at DMEXCO will begin with cross-sector topics such as new work and sustainability: Moderated by Holger Schellkopf (Editor-in-Chief, t3n), Gali Arnon (CMO, Fiverr), Diana Degraa (CEO, Initiative Media), Lunia Hara (Director Project Management, diconium), and Susanne Harring (CEO, De’Longhi Deutschland GmbH) will speak about the future of the world of work and the opportunities and risks associated with working from home. The question of how companies can credibly communicate sustainability without coming under suspicion of greenwashing will be discussed by Anna Alex (Co-Founder, Planetly), Wolfgang Gründinger (Chief Evangelist, EnPal) and Emma Newman (Chief Revenue Officer, EMEA, PubMatic) on the evening of the first expo day. Tina Beuchler, Head of Global Media at Nestlé, will also explore the issue of “Sustainable Media” in a discussion with Nikolaus Röttger on the first expo day.
On the first day of DMEXCO, Rezo, Content Creator, Founder of Nindo and Germany’s best-known YouTuber, will also grace the red stage with his own keynote speech on the core topics of social marketing: expanding your reach, building a community, and social commerce. Yet another highlight will be Professor Toby Walsh, a world-leading researcher in the field of artificial intelligence, whose critical analysis of AI is titled “Machines behaving badly”. And at the executive roundtable, “What a time to have an agency?!”, Kristian Meinken (Managing Director, Pilot Hamburg), Esther Busch (Managing Partner, Serviceplan), Stefanie Tannrath (CEO, Universal McCann), Christian Wilkens (CCO, MediaCom), and Anke Herbener (CEO, TWT) will discuss the status quo of today’s agency landscape.
Around 38 percent of the speakers on the curated stages at DMEXCO this year are women, and more than half of the speakers work outside Germany.
“DMEXCO Social Talk” with Timm Chiusano, Diana zur Löwen, Rezo, and others
In the “DMEXCO Social Talk by Social Match” on the E-commerce stage, DMEXCO will focus one of the fastest-growing areas in marketing: the creator economy. Notable content creators and social media experts will provide exclusive insights behind the scenes of social media marketing from a brand and creator perspective. Which trends will dominate the most relevant social media channels in the future? How does a brand become a brand loved by the community? Why is transparency absolutely crucial for the entire industry and how can the next viral hit be achieved?
Rezo along with content creator Jonas Ems, and business angel and guest judge of the German TV show “Die Höhle der Löwen” (“Shark Tank”), Diana zur Löwen, and many more will be there. New York media expert and content creator Timm Chiusano and James Creech, SVP of Brandwatch, will report on current developments in the international creator economy. “DMEXCO Social Talk” will take place in cooperation with social media agency Social Match on the second day of DMEXCO.
New digital event: DMEXCO x Digiday Online on September 27, 2022
DMEXCO is the gift that keeps on giving: Five days after the main in-person expo and conference, DMEXCO will be joining forces with leading U.S. trade magazine Digiday on September 27 to hold an extra digital-only event with a special focus on the U.S. market. Digiday will act as DMEXCO’s exclusive event partner: In addition to unmissable sessions from DMEXCO 2022, participants can look forward to content exploring the main challenges in today’s digital marketing — produced by Digiday especially for the event. A total of four channels will each stream five hours of premium content and offer the opportunity to network with partners from DMEXCO 2022. “DMEXCO x Digiday Online” will take place from 4 pm to 9 pm (CET) / 10 am to 3 pm (ET) on DMEXCO’s digital event platform. The digital event is free for everyone who has a ticket for this year’s DMEXCO. Separate tickets just for DMEXCO x Digiday Online 2022 are available starting from 74 euros.
“Digiday is excited to partner with DMEXCO on this year’s event. Both organizations have a unique expertise in bringing together media and marketing leaders which we think will create something really valuable.” comments Mike Madarasz, Chief Marketing Officer at Digiday Media.
Professor Dominik Matyka, Chief Advisor of DMEXCO, adds: “DMEXCO epitomizes international business like no other event. We’re therefore delighted to launch something special for the U.S. market with the support of Digiday. On the one hand, it underscores our aspiration to open the door to the European market for U.S. companies. On the other, it reinforces our digital strategy of offering our global community a platform for networking, inspiration, and – above all – unique business opportunities. It gives everyone another chance to experience the highlights of DMEXCO with hardly any time lag if they couldn’t fit everything in during the main event in Cologne or were unable to make the trip over.”
