15th to 18th November 2022 at the Hanover Exhibition Center – Focus on the future of animal husbandry and decentralized energy supply – World’s leading trade fair presents innovative power of the two industries
(DLG). EuroTier, the world’s leading trade fair for professional animal husbandry and livestock management, and EnergyDecentral, the leading trade fair for decentralized energies, will open on the 15th. November 2022 again their doors at the exhibition center in Hanover. With this trade fair double, the organizer DLG (German Agricultural Society) is displaying two central industries and their innovative strength. EuroTier presents innovations and trends for agriculture and offers a complete range of modern animal husbandry with solutions to the challenges of the future. EnergyDecentral maps the entire value chain of sustainable energy production. One focus is on the opportunities and possibilities of decentralized energies in the current discussion about a long-term and sustainable energy supply. On 250,000 m2 of hall space, both trade fairs with a total of around 1,800 exhibitors from 55 countries show their products, services and visions for the future of their industries.
The great innovative power of the industries was determined by neutral expert commissions set up by the DLG (German Agricultural Society) as part of the novelty competitions for the “Innovation Award EuroTier” and the “Innovation Award EnergyDecentral”: Four gold and 14 silver medals were awarded in the field of EuroTier, one gold and five silver medals at EnergyDecentral. A total of over 150 innovations were submitted to the competitions. With a new award, the “DLG-Agrifuture Concept Winners”, DLG honors concepts and visions for the first time this year that are not yet ready for the market, but have potential for the future of its industry.
Think tank at the exhibition center
As part of the two leading trade fairs, DLG actively promotes the development of innovations and expands them as think tanks for the future of the animal husbandry and energy supply industry. Start-ups and creative minds present their forward-looking ideas in the DLG-AgrifutureLab and in the DLG.Prototype.Club. In the Innovation Station (Hall 26, H21), technical tasks are solved live on site.
Pioneering specialist program on EuroTier
Under the guiding theme of EuroTier 2022 “Transforming Animal Farming”, DLG offers around 350 specialist events (discussion forums, congresses and conferences) on current future issues. International experts will discuss on the podium or digitally on the DLG-Connect platform where the journey can go for the animal husbandry industry. In the six special shows “DLG Spotlights” as well as in the TopTierTreff, current topics are presented compactly:
- Overall company husbandry concepts (Hall 26)
Together with the Federal Institute for Agriculture and Food (BLE), the Federal Information Center for Agriculture (BZL), the Board of Trustees for Technology and Construction in Agriculture e.V. (KTBL), the Association of Chambers of Agriculture (VLK) and the AG of the State Institutes and State Offices for Agriculture sustainable concepts for animal husbandry and stable construction, which are not only animal-friendly, environmentally friendly, climate-friendly and consumer-oriented, but also competitive.
- Feed for Future (Hall 21)
Leading companies in the international feed industry present innovative feed, processes and recipes. This also includes novel protein sources from algae and insects, which are now available as alternatives for protein supply.
- Barn Robot Event (Hall 13)
Haus Düsse (Griculture Chamber of North Rhine-Westphalia) and the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn present a practical comparison of different models of cleaning robots on a demonstration surface, which automatically and independently clean the treads in the cowshed.
- TopTierTreff (Hall 11)
Leading German and international breeding companies and organizations from the dairy and meat cattle sector present themselves here with their breeding animals.
- Direct marketing (Hall 26)
For the first time, technical solutions, products and services as well as current marketing strategies are summarized on the basis of best practice examples for direct marketers.
- Aquaculture Lounge (Hall 21)
The DLG and the Innovation Space Blue Bioeconomy of Kiel University present trends and perspectives in the field of aquaculture.
- Network Focus Animal Welfare (Hall 26)
The nationwide joint project “Network Focus Animal Welfare” funded by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) provides answers to current questions on how animal welfare can be improved in livestock farming.
For direct exchange with national and international experts, there are discussion forums on various topics. For example, the DLG Forum “Pig & Poultry” (Hall 17) deals with the question “Specialize or diversify?” This is particularly of interest to the pig-holding companies from the export-oriented countries of Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium or Denmark. In the DLG Forum “Milk & Beef” (Hall 12), experts discuss international trends in dairy farming and cattle husbandry. While the trend towards process optimization through automation and digitization is moving in the export nations of dairy products, in Europe the focus is on animal welfare, sustainability, climate protection and transparency in the process chain.
Industry events and congresses
EuroTier is also a platform for numerous industry events and congresses. These include the Cattle & Pig Event, the Poultry Conference, the Animal Health Event with presentation of the “Animal Welfare Award” and the DLG-Talks Tier (Hall 26) on the topics of food security, climate impact, animal welfare and sustainability. The Federal Association of Practicing Veterinarians (bpt) will hold its annual congress with over 2,500 veterinarians as well as the associated trade fair “Veterinary Medicine” overlapping time with the EuroTier.
Young Farmers Day with DLG-Agri Influencer Award 2022
Young Farmers Day on the 17th November is a meeting place for young farmers and agricultural students from home and abroad. In addition to the visit of EuroTier on the 17th, the program includes November job forums, an international panel discussion as well as meeting places to get to know each other and exchange experiences. The highlight is the Young Farmers Party, which will take place in the evening at the exhibition center. On Young Farmers Day, a discussion round with the pre-finalists of the DLG Agri Influencer Award 2022 will take place at the DLG stand in Hall 26. The finalists will be awarded at the party.
Campus and Career
Hall 26 is also about professional careers as well as science and research. Exhibitors and educational institutions present there in the “Campus & Career” area an attractive offer with information about the courses offered and career entry in the agricultural sector as well as in research. The Job Wall offers current offers from EuroTier exhibitors.
EnergyDecentral: Marketplace and platform for the future of energy supply
Due to the war-related crisis in energy supply, the search for alternative and renewable energy sources has become the focus. As a marketplace and innovation show of a future-oriented energy industry, EnergyDecentral presents many new ideas and proven possibilities of a decentralized energy supply – not only on farms, but also for municipal utilities.
An extensive range of decentralized energy sources, such as photovoltaics, agri-photovoltaics, floating PV systems, complete solutions for the anaerobic fermentation of biomass and biogas production and treatment, will be presented in Halls 24, 25, 26 and 27. In addition, the focus is also on renewable solid fuels, a way to become independent of costly heating costs and to supply heating networks with peak loads. Whether logs, wood chips or pellets: Modern fully automatic biomass combustion plants offer plenty of room for savings while at the same time efficient and low-emission combustion.
CHP technology is the pillar of a regular residual load supply of decentralized energy systems. EnergyDecentral focuses on components, lubricants and services in the power range from 20 kilowatts to two megawatts. Hydrogen is another topic at the leading international trade fair, as agriculture in particular offers great potential for sustainable green hydrogen. EnergyDecentral is thus the central platform for technically based discussions on the current design of funding policy in the field of energy supply. Today, new technologies should not only supply electricity, heat and fuels as flexibly as possible, but also e.g. B. also ensure more independence thanks to innovative power-to-gas concepts.
