【DE】Specialist congress “CannaB.” on December 6th and 7th, 2022

Around 20 specialist lectures at the Freiburg Exhibition Center deal with the legalization of cannabis in Germany

 

On December 6th and 7th, 2022, Freiburg Wirtschaft Touristik und Messe GmbH & Co. KG (FWTM) will hold the first specialist congress on the legalization of cannabis at the Freiburg Exhibition Center. “CannaB.” will provide technical support throughout the legalization process. The first edition will focus on the cornerstones decided by the federal government with experts from business, politics and society. The target group of the congress are entrepreneurs, interested parties from agriculture, authorities, institutions, pharmacy, trade, business and society. On the basis of the key issues paper, a total of 20 participating keynote speakers will take a critical look at the current framework conditions and measures on two days of the event in the context of around 20 specialist lectures and panel discussions and provide an insight into a possible form of legalization with specific approaches – give sentences for the different participants. The lectures are spread over two days of the congress and are divided into four different thematic blocks. On the first day of the congress, the main topics “Legal aspects of the key issues paper” and “Best Practice South and North America // Switzerland // Thailand” will be dealt with, on the second day “Requirements and challenges for politics”, “Cultivation vs. import : Niche topic hemp cultivation in Germany” and “Social aspects” as well as “Medical cannabis – quo vadis”.

 

The speakers on the first day of the congress include Burkhard Blienert, Federal Government Commissioner for Addiction and Drug Issues, and Kai-Friedrich Niermann, who runs the “canna-biz-legal” blog as a commercial and corporate lawyer. They will go into the subject of “Legal aspects of the key issues paper”. Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult.

 

Hans-Jörg Albrecht, former director at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Crime, Security and Law in Freiburg, and Dr. Lavinia Baltes, co-leader of the project WEED CARE – study on regulated cannabis sales in Basel, will give a lecture.

 

The second day of the congress starts with the “requirements and challenges for politics”. Here there will be an assessment by Nikolai Reith, economic and social policy spokesman for the FDP in the Baden-Württemberg state parliament vs. Import”. The participants can look forward to keynote speeches by Philip Schetter (Managing Director Cantourage GmbH), Bernd Frank (Managing Director BAFA Neu GmbH) and Dr. Stefan Gall (Managing Director MABEWO AG) & Christian Halle (Project Development & Head Grower MABEWO AG) Daniel Kruse, President of the European Industrial Hemp Association (EIHA), Georg Wurth, Managing Director of the German Hemp Association and Philipp Ferrer, Member of the Executive Committee of the Cannabis Industry Association, will examine the “social aspects”.

 

The medical / pharmaceutical side is under the topic “Medical cannabis – quo vadis” by Prof. Dr. Martin J. Hug, director and specialist pharmacist for clinical pharmacy at the University Hospital Freiburg, Christian Ude, pharmacist, lecturer at Goethe University and member of the scientific advisory board of the Federal Chamber of Pharmacists, and Dr. Christiane Neubaur – Managing Director of the Association of Cannabis Supplying Pharmacies (VCA).

 

The specialist lectures and panel discussions are supplemented by an accompanying exhibition and generous areas for networking in order not only to enable but also to promote discussions between the participants, the exhibitors and the speakers and with answers to specific questions added value to offer for the congress visitors. The exhibitors include the German Agricultural Society, the SanityGroup GmbH from Berlin and the Association of Cannabis Supplying Pharmacies (VCA).
