Gift ideas from sustainable to creative

When Christmas approaches at the end of the year with rapid steps, the question of the right gifts for loved ones inevitably arises. NRW’s large consumer fair Mode Heim Handwerk is a welcome opportunity to buy the first presents for the upcoming festival. From the 10th to the 13th November 2022, around 300 exhibitors will show their products and services at Messe Essen. The versatile offer makes the decision difficult: fashion and accessories, practical and creative for home and hobby, travel and events or sweet and savory specialties are available.

Under the name “Young Wilde” around 20 start-ups present themselves together at the Mode Heim Handwerk in Hall 6. For example, the “bunbag” of “Wir sind DeiN” is sustainable and practical. The cloth bag in different designs makes it possible to transport baked goods directly from the baker to your home, store them in them and also to serve them. An entire gift basket on the subject of the Ruhr area can be put together with the creative and lovingly designed products of exhibitors such as “Vonne Bude – Zechenzeugs”, “Grubenmädchen” and “Pottliebe Klamotten”. The curry sausage in the glass of “Eats doch Wurscht” also goes with it.

Time and enjoyment to give away

There is time together to give away at the numerous travel and camping providers at the Plus fair “Urlaubsträume” in Hall 5. How about a short break in the mountains (e.g. B. ALPenjoy and Zillertal Tourism), an adventurous motorhome trip (e.g. B. Canada Dream Tours and Kría Tours Nature & Adventure Tours) or a sewing trip to the fashion city of Florence (Zic’n’Zac – The Sewing Recreation Area)? Tickets for entertainment shows are also offered by the GOP Variety Theater and the Mondpalast of Wanne-Eickel.

The many specialties of the plus fair “NRW – The best of the region” in Hall 6 ensure culinary delights under the Christmas tree. Liqueurs and fruit brandies, beer and lemonades, jams and awakened as well as smoked and air-dried food are welcome souvenirs at every Christmas party.

An energy-saving alternative to raclette, fondue & Co. is the new cooking system “DeWok” (Junge Wilde, Hall 6). Without electricity or gas, but with fuel gel, a tasty wok dish can be prepared in convivial company in almost every place.

There’s love in here

Craft fans who rely on homemade gifts can not only stock up on material and accessories related to creative design at the Plus fair “kreativ.essen” in Hall 8, but also learn how to do it in numerous workshops. In addition to crocheting cup coasters, sewing children’s hats and embroidering scarves with the sewing machine, the production of gift tags for Christmas is also on the agenda.

Even more Christmas

In Christmastown in Hall 8, the name says it all. All kinds of decoration for the Advent season, tree decorations, candles and other gift ideas can be found here as well as a Christmas café that invites you to linger. The Ahja! theater performs the Christmas play “Motte will SEA” for children from the age of four several times a day.

The Mode Heim Handwerk is open Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., two hours longer on Friday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. A day ticket for adults costs 6.50 euros.
