【DE】GASTRO IVENT 2023: Trends and lemonade

Industry responds to constantly new challenges with new concepts and ideas

If life gives you lemons, make lemonade out of it! People in the hotel and catering sector master this “recipe” from the bottom of their own. They have always been used to simply smiling away capricious guests or adverse circumstances – and making the most of it. However, in view of the corona pandemic, the energy crisis and the ubiquitous shortage of personnel, this is becoming increasingly difficult for many.

At the GASTRO IVENT, which will take place from 28th to 30th. January 2023 at MESSE BREMEN, project manager Marta Pasierbek therefore wants to pour out “any amount of ideal lemonade”. “Right now, these energetic, committed people need a forum for exchange and inspiration. We want to strengthen the players in the industry’ back at GASTRO IVENT and inspire them with exciting trends and ideas from practice,” says Pasierbek. This is ensured by around 150 exhibitors, who come to GASTRO IVENT from the areas of food, wholesale, furnishings and equipment, among others. Here, visitors from gastronomy, communal catering and the hotel industry will find everything for their business.

That’s my cup of coffee!

Coffee is a top topic at GASTRO IVENT, to which the organizers dedicate their own large “coffee style area”. Here and also in the exhibition, visitors can get to know new roasts and coffee specialties, among other things. As a highlight, the “German Cuptasting Championship of the Specialty Coffee Association Germany (SCA)” will be held as part of the GASTRO IVENT. We are looking for the coffee expert with the finest sensors. By the way, not only baristas, but also roasters or green coffee importers are allowed to compete.

Startup Allee: Bremen newcomers introduce themselves

At the upcoming GASTRO IVENT, there will be a special area for founders from Bremen with an interface to gastronomy for the first time – in cooperation with Bremen Startups: the “Startup Allee”. Nine selected Bremen newcomers present themselves here and face not only an expert jury, but also the trade visitors as part of a pitch night on Saturday. It’s about fame and honor, but also about attractive prices.

Looking to the future

All important trend topics will be shown at GASTRO IVENT. At the product level, the range ranges from non-alcoholic spirits, healthy lemonades and bowls to the overarching trends sustainability and vegan lifestyle. At the business level, current challenges such as the shortage of skilled workers set the most important trends, namely convenience products and service robots. With their tireless commitment, the latter could be a solution to the shortage of personnel – and at the same time delight a tech-savvy audience. If you want to take a closer look at such a “Little Helper”, you have the opportunity to do so at GASTRO IVENT.

Roundtable discussions on burning topics on trade fair Monday

Numerous impulse lectures and discussion rounds are planned on the third day of the fair. This concerns, for example, pricing, shortage of skilled workers, digitization and reusable bids. The practical discussions are initiated by the Bremen Gastro Community and the most diverse actors of the gastro scene in the northwest, who want to advance the pressing topics and promote exchange and networking. Further information about the program will soon be online at www.gastro-ivent.de

GASTRO IVENT remains the most important industry meeting place

“GASTRO IVENT is and remains the most important network platform for restaurateurs, community managers and hoteliers in the northwest,” says Claudia Nötzelmann, who is responsible for trade fairs at MESSE BREMEN. “In these challenging times, GASTRO IVENT will be just the right place for both exhibitors and trade visitors to gain suggestions, information and strong partners for the future,” says Marta Pasierbek, who designs GASTRO IVENT as project manager.
