Heat transition, energy efficiency, drinking water hygiene: GET Nord 2022 once again impressively showed which current topics are the focus of building energy technology and which solutions are possible through the networking of the trades electrical, sanitary, heating and air conditioning. The only joint building technology trade fair in Germany ended after three intensive days of the fair on the 19th. November 2022 with a consistently positive response from all industry representatives.
Around 550 exhibiting companies from 11 countries presented on 60,000 square meters of exhibition space how processes and procedures can be sustainably optimized and savings potential can be realized with state-of-the-art building technology. In addition, resourceful solutions from the field of digitization and electrification showed which key technologies can actively contribute to achieving climate goals. As a result, the trade fair once again became a hub for forward-looking information in all areas of building technology. “Get Nord has become an information and know-how hotspot in northern German craftsmanship, which is not missing in any calendar in the industry,” says Bernd Aufderheide, Chairman of the Management Board of Hamburg Messe und Congress. With the momentum of fantastic three days of personal exchange around groundbreaking state-of-the-art technologies, we are already looking forward to GET Nord 2024.
Heat transition as a supporting element of a climate-neutral future
This year, GET Nord focused particularly on networked solutions for the building technology challenges of our time. Just right, as Markus Staudt, Managing Director of the Federal Association of the German Heating Industry (BDH), sums up: “Get Nord was an absolute success and came at just the right time. The trade visitors found solutions for the mega topics of climate protection and security of supply here. In particular, the composite concept of electrical and SHK has proven itself and reflects the development on the market. It was felt that people enjoyed the encounter and the direct professional exchange again after the pandemic.”
Sustainable technologies and industry know-how were the common thread that connected the exhibition stands, special shows, forums and specialist lectures. The possibilities of a self-sufficient energy supply were addressed as well as associated standards, the building-wide topic of resource efficiency and the safe supply of drinking water. These networked industry topics united masters and journeymen, architects, engineers, planners and consultants as visitors to the eight exhibition halls.
Since 2008: Networking of trades is a unique success factor of GET Nord
Just as the electrical and HVAC trades converge in practice, GET Nord has been presenting itself for years as a joint trade fair for all relevant players in technical building equipment. Decisive for this success is the good cooperation of the North German professional associations, which draw a consistently positive conclusion. “The networking of electrical and SHK has also fully merged again on this GET Nord. It has been shown that a trade fair as a marketplace of encounters is more than contemporary,” summarizes Obermeister Jens Wagner, trade association and guild SHK Hamburg, his impressions. “We have noticed a very positive mood among manufacturers and skilled trades. In our view, GET Nord 2022 was an all-round successful event – as we had hoped and desired.”
The northern German e-crafts also look back on a very successful GET Nord 2022. According to Heiko Nass, President of the North German Association of Electrical and Information Technology, the trend topic of the Energy Transition, in particular with the areas of energy management and sector coupling, would have taken on a special focus. “Our conclusion after the three intensive days of the fair: Among trade visitors, these market-relevant topics have become even more important.”
Visitors and exhibiting companies alike enthusiastic
Many representatives of exhibiting companies emphasized the importance of industry events such as GET Nord. They were just as enthusiastic about the concept and success of the Hamburg trade fair as the more than 35,000 trade visitors.
According to preliminary figures from a visitor survey by an independent market research institute, 89 percent of them give top marks for GET Nord, 90 percent would recommend the trade fair. The main drivers for the visitors were the desire for further training and expansion of specialist knowledge as well as the acquisition of information about new products, novelties and trends in the industry. GET Nord 2022 recorded an increase in decision-makers compared to the previous event. 97 percent of those surveyed confirm GET Nord as the leading trade fair in the north, which shows the entire diversity of building technology.
GET Nord has taken into account the desire for compact knowledge transfer in one place, not least with the numerous specialist forums and the extensive stage program. In particular, the new ENERGY Forum with a wide range of trend topics was used by around half of the visitors. The offer will continue to be expanded in the future and adapted to the needs of the electrical and HVAC industry.
The next GET Nord will take place from the 21st to the 23rd. November 2024 in the Hamburg exhibition halls.
