The event for the broadcast and media technology industry, the HAMBURG OPEN, returns to its ancestral place in January after the corona-related postponement to June. On the 18th and 19th January 2023, the HAMBURG OPEN will once again take on its traditional role as the industry’s annual kick-off event. And this with the largest offer since its foundation: The organizer Hamburg Messe und Congress (HMC) and its cooperation partner Studio Hamburg MCI expect the most comprehensive offer for the participating industry representatives in the history of the HAMBURG OPEN at the beginning of the year with more than 180 exhibiting companies and a further enlarged area compared to the previous event.
The high-quality supporting program conveys an extra portion of inspiration. In particular, future topics are given even more space than before. Among other things, we were able to work with Prof. Dr. Frank Steinicke and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Sebastian Stober luminaries of her field as a speaker on the topics of Metaverse or Gain artificial intelligence. Visitors to the HAMBURG OPEN 2023 expect absolute highlights,” says Maximilian Below, Managing Director of MCI. Lectures and panels on topics such as cloud, remote production, sustainability, cyber security, to name but a few, round off the program of the HAMBURG OPEN Forum and give an insight into the most important technical and economic developments and trends. In addition to the HAMBURG OPEN Forum, there will also be an exhibitor stage at which numerous companies will present their innovations and individual solutions on many practical topics over two days.
After the exhibitor stage was only introduced in 2022, there will be another innovation in 2023: Visitors to the HAMBURG OPEN can participate in so-called masterclasses for the first time. Experts and representatives of companies such as SONY and Broadcast Solutions present products and solutions in a separate seminar area, convey best practices via application tips and are available for queries. As with the lecture program, these masterclasses can also be attended free of charge.
As with the previous events, the focus of the HAMBURG OPEN 2023 is on the special networking character. The spacious, specially created area is therefore back in the center of the hall. After the get-together on Wednesday evening already had more participants than ever before at the HAMBURG OPEN 2022, it is to become even more attractive in 2023 and expand its importance as an industry highlight. The HAMBURG OPEN is not a normal trade fair, but an event that thrives on its unique family, relaxed atmosphere and networking. We want to emphasize this character with the get-together and will make it even more attractive through varied catering, says Daniel Schmitt, Head of Business Development at Hamburg Messe und Congress. “With live music, food and drinks, all participants are cordially invited to end the first day of the event together.”
About the HAMBURG OPEN
The HAMBURG OPEN has now firmly established itself in the broadcast and media technology industry as a mixture of industry meeting and trade fair. In 2022, around 170 exhibitors showed the 1,500 trade visitors their innovations and current industry trends at the exhibition center of the Hamburg Messe und Congress. A large number of established and new manufacturers of transmission technology, intercom systems, video mixers, audio mixers, cameras, displays, converters, media technology, post-production technology and many other areas are represented. Users and technicians (e.g. Cameramen, event technicians, sound technicians, masters and engineers, media technicians, system integrators, lighting designers), including from private and public broadcasters, are given the opportunity to inform and exchange information on the latest topics in a relaxed atmosphere and within the comprehensive lecture program.
