This year, the international event for the self-sufficient power supply OFF-GRID Expo + Conference (OEC) will take place on the 1st and 2nd. December. The fair and conference will take place live on site, the day before visitors can participate in product training at TechDay – the conference will also be broadcast livestream. The OEC is aimed at all actors in self-sufficient power supply – whether industry, craftsmen, installers, dealers or project planners, whether employees of an aid organization, a university or public administration.
Around 60 exhibitors from the USA, among others, are there, and as every year are well-known names that make OEC the industry meeting place of the year – premium partners include Steca – A KATEK Brand, which has become the leading supplier of products for the solar electronics industry through its tailor-made solutions for the effective use of solar radiation, Victron Energy BV, which is Serge Remy, Head of Sales at Studer, will also be part of the OEC:
Since its foundation in 1987, Studer Innotec has always been committed to solar independence. Starting with solar systems for Swiss chalets, Studer Innotec soon supplied high-end power electronics for battery-assisted solutions. With its plant in the Swiss Alps, Studer Innotec now exports 85% of its products all over the world. In addition to a wide range of inverters and MPPT solar charge controllers, our company has presented another product that will be launched in 2021: the next3 hybrid inverter. This three-phase 15kVA inverter with integrated MPPT with 16 kW was developed for both off-grid and on-grid applications. Studer Innotec will be present at the next OFF-GRID Expo + Conference in Augsburg. The event is unique in the field of off-grid technology and a great opportunity for all players to meet and exchange their experiences and ideas through an ever-growing market.”
In addition to these and other industry giants, there are also new important faces: this includes e.g. B. Africa GreenTec AG. Torsten Schreiber, Managing Director of Africa GreenTec AG, is already looking forward to OEC:
When I developed the solar container in 2014 as a purely PV and battery-based off-grid system for crisis regions in the Sahel, my main concern was to replace diesel generators in Africa. For 700 million people sub-Saharan Africa, off-grid systems are the great opportunity for a self-determined future. In view of the fear of war and blackout in an energy crisis also in the global north, people for whom a stable energy supply is a matter of course are also becoming increasingly clear how valuable the decentralized and self-sufficient electricity and water supply is. We are pleased to share our technology and experience with interested parties at OFF-GRID Expo.”
In addition, OEC also promotes young companies and offers a springboard in the middle of the industry: For example, the start-up company Solarbakery GmbH is the first provider in the world to offer fully equipped, mobile and energy self-sufficient container bakeries and celebrate its premiere in Augsburg! The 100% PV-powered bakery will be in use live at a trade fair for the first time in Augsburg.
Highlight every year: the conference – live on site and in the live stream
Parallel to the exhibition and the interactive supporting program with matchmaking (sponsored by UNIDO ITPO Germany), Education Mile and evening event, the English-language OFF-GRID Conference will take place.
Exciting topics will also be on the agenda in 2022. Innovative cooling applications for food storage and health care are discussed as well as the enormous potential of decentralized renewable energies and e-mobility in the transport sector or energy storage solutions that ensure an uninterrupted energy supply. Other topics include innovative financing mechanisms as a catalyst for rural electrification with off-grid technologies and the Nexus water-energy nutrition pioneering for global development.
Another highlight of this year’s conference is the topic of female entrepreneurs as key figures in the field of off-grid renewable energies, which is supported by the Africa Association of the German Economy. The electrification of rural communities opens up unprecedented opportunities for women and creates a number of social and economic benefits for them. The speakers will discuss this exciting potential of expanding female entrepreneurship in the renewable energy sector in the off-grid sector at the conference.
If you can’t wait to visit the OEC now: Tickets can be purchased from 01. October 2022 can be purchased online via the ticket shop. OEC 2022 runs on the 1st. December from 10:00 to 17:00 and 2. December 2022 from 09:00 to 16:00 in the Augsburg Exhibition Center.
