After the GGS trade fair Dangerous Goods // Hazardous Substances could not be carried out in 2020 due to the corona pandemic, the industry platform, which is unique in Europe, invites you from the 8th to the 10th. November 2022, providers and users from hazardous goods and hazardous materials logistics will again be present at the Leipziger Messe. At the third edition of the fair, around 50 exhibitors will present their new products and diverse services for the transport of dangerous goods, storage and intralogistics of hazardous substances as well as for ensuring the safety-relevant requirements of all processes of the associated logistics chain. With its offer, GGS addresses logisticians from the various departments as well as dangerous goods and other safety officers. With a strong practical relevance, the extensive specialist program completes the event.

“We are very pleased that we can finally welcome exhibitors and visitors back to the GGS in Leipzig. The third edition of Europe’s only trade fair for the holistic view of hazardous materials and dangerous goods logistics offers the opportunity for a live experience of innovations and trends as well as for personal exchange with business partners and industry colleagues,” says Markus Geisenberger, Managing Director of Leipziger Messe. “At this year’s GGS, an attractive range of exhibitors consisting of well-known market leaders as well as innovative medium-sized companies and service providers is represented.”
GGS maps cross-section of dangerous goods and hazardous materials logistics
The GGS represents a diverse offer cross-section: Visitors can find out about transport and logistics services, for example at the exhibition stands of the market-leading providers DACHSER SE as well as Finsterwalder Transport und Logistik. In the field of packaging, FLUXX® made by SABEU and PRODINGER packaging, among others, present themselves. In addition, the world market leaders in hazardous material storage, DENIOS SE and asecos, will present their innovations at GGS. Linde Material Handling is represented with various products of storage, conveying and handling technology. In the field of load securing, the exhibitors HLash & Rainer and karolit, among others, show their current developments. Other well-known exhibitors include Bluhm Systeme, BOLZ INTEC, the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics IML, Quentic, Schoeller Allibert and Stöbich.
Companies from the Central Germany region will also present their range of services at this year’s GGS in Leipzig: This includes, for example, the Chemnitz company richter & heß INDUSTRIE- und GEFAHRGUTVERPACKUNG, whose range includes different packaging solutions made of corrugated cardboard and containers made of plastic, sheet metal or glass for dangerous goods. PortGround – also present at GGS – is a partner for the safe and proper handling of all classes of dangerous goods at Leipzig/Halle and Dresden airports.
At GGS, visitors can once again look forward to an interesting range of solutions, products and services for the transport of dangerous goods, storage, in-house logistics of hazardous substances as well as maximum safety in the handling of highly sensitive goods and substances. A world premiere can be admired at the joint stand of Linde Material Handling and the Linde authorized dealers from the East region: the new Linde Ex-Schutz Stapler E30 L EX. According to the company, the explosion-proof forklifts offer maximum protection for all environments in which an explosive atmosphere occasionally or briefly arises.
Practical specialist program sets impulses for the industry
Technological developments as well as regular changes in legal regulations and company regulations characterize the handling of dangerous goods and hazardous substances. The extensive specialist program of the fair provides insights into current topics and creates a practical training offer as well as suggestions for the exchange of experience. In the middle of the trade fair events in Hall 2, the exhibitors offer know-how for all trade visitors with lectures in the Open Forum and with product demonstrations in the new Action Forum. In the “Meeting Point Dangerous Goods”, organized by the Gefahrgutverband Deutschland e.V. (GGVD), a diverse range of topics is covered – from the innovations in ADR 2023 to load securing to the marking and storage of hazardous substances.
For the first time as part of the GGS, on the 9th November hosted the DENIOS Hazardous Substances Day, which deals, among other things, with the framework conditions for the collection of lithium-ion batteries in containers as well as the handover to disposal companies, the new regulations for the storage of hazardous substances and also best practices from hazardous substance storage.
The information event “Dangerous Goods Regulations 2023 – Outlook and Developments” of the Association of the Chemical Industry e.V. also celebrates its premiere at the GGS. (VCI) on the 9th November. Topics such as “Mobile applications for the control of dangerous goods made by yourself” or “Fast Loading 2.0: Double-layer loading of stable loading units” are on the agenda.
“The transport of dangerous goods – find the mistakes!” – Practical competition for visitors
The competition “The transport of dangerous goods – find the mistakes!”, which is carried out by the Heiko Rödel driving school and the GGVD on all three days of the fair, goes from theory to practice. The task for trade visitors is to find prepared errors on a truck standing in the exhibition hall – in particular with the loaded packages, the load securing carried out and the accompanying documents issued. Participants with the most detected errors receive attractive prizes.
