【DE】Experience Connected Mobility – IAA MOBILITY presents new motto and concept orientation for 2023

Leading global mobility platform with optimized B2B and B2C focus will take place from the 5th to the 10th. September 2023 in Munich.

Berlin/Munich – On the 5th September 2023, the second edition of the leading mobility platform IAA MOBILITY starts in Munich. As the world’s most progressive platform for the future of mobility, sustainability and technology, it connects all companies that are active in the mobility ecosystem – as well as with new target groups. The focus is on sustainable and intelligently networked mobility solutions. Under the new motto “Experience Connected Mobility”, the intelligent networking of vehicles and infrastructure is to be made tangible at the IAA MOBILITY.

At the premiere of the new IAA MOBILITY 2021, the mobility show inspired over 400,000 visitors under difficult corona conditions and generated an unprecedented global reach for the topic of sustainable mobility. Next September, the IAA MOBILITY wants to expand the success of 2021. The aim is to show what will move people tomorrow, from automobiles to micro-vehicles and bicycles to new solutions for public transport. Always in focus: Sustainability and the technologies that will shape mobile life in the future. A foretaste of what this interaction looks like at the IAA MOBILITY is provided by a selection of the already confirmed exhibitors. These stand for the cross-industry approach of the leading mobility platform. Car manufacturers such as Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Porsche, Trasco or VW, leading suppliers such as Bosch, Brose Fahrzeugteile, Continental, Denso, ElringKlinger, MAGNA, KIRCHHOFF Automotive, Schaeffler or ZF present themselves; but also global tech companies such as Luminar or Qualcomm; micromobility manufacturers such as Stromer or Brose eBikes; energy suppliers and battery companies such as EnBW, CATL or Farasis Energy; electronics companies such as Hamamatsu Photonics as well as exhibitors from the field of research such as the Fraunhofer Society or the German Aerospace Center.

“With the IAA Mobility 2021, we have successfully completed the transformation to a mobility platform. At this, our exhibitors will also present a range of networked and sustainable mobility solutions in 2023. Our goal is to make this global innovative power tangible for all target groups at the IAA MOBILITY – because an innovation is only established when it is used by the majority of society. At the same time, we want to promote discourse and active exchange between different stakeholders. That’s why we have also very consciously chosen our motto for the IAA MOBILITY 2023: Experience Connected Mobility,” says Jürgen Mindel, Managing Director VDA.

Under the motto “Experience Connected Mobility”, the exhibitors and partners of the IAA MOBILITY 2023 present the diversity of a mobility of the future that brings people even closer together – sustainably, digitally and intelligently networked. Networking stands for a whole universe of possibilities to develop new mobility solutions, improve existing ones and make mobility safer, more convenient and more efficient overall. This transformation thrives on the close interaction of different modes of transport, companies from technology, IT, consumer electronics, telecommunications with manufacturers and suppliers of vehicles and micromobility. For this interaction, the IAA MOBILITY is the global platform.

“The IAA MOBILITY is the lived example of a successful transformation from a classic trade fair to a forward-looking mobility platform,” explain Stefan Rummel and Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer, who manages Messe München GmbH as CEO double top. Stefan Rummel, Managing Director responsible for IAA Mobility, adds: “In 2021, the IAA MOBILITY made it clear how strong the social interest in sustainable mobility offers is. We are building on this and are pleased to have two strong partners at our side with the city of Munich and the Free State of Bavaria. In Munich city center – in the open space and on the Blue Lanes – we will again create places of experience that inspire. And at the exhibition center in Riem, the global summit of mobility will find a productive home with the IAA Summit.”

The formats of the IAA MOBILITY 2023

B2C: Open Space – Experience mobility where it takes place

With the open space in Munich city center, the IAA MOBILITY creates places of experience for everyone at Wittelsbacher Platz, Odeonsplatz, Marstallplatz, Königsplatz, Marienplatz, Max-Joseph-Platz as well as Ludwigstraße, Hofgartenstraße and Residenzhöfen. The area is thus just as large as at the IAA MOBILITY last year. 89 percent of Open Space visitors in 2021 rated the format positively. At the IAA MOBILITY 2023, the aforementioned areas in the heart of Munich will once again show what the future of the event industry can look like. Thus, the Open Space Festival site is the place of sustainable mobility, dialogue and discussion, as well as test area in one. The perfect stage for urban mobility with user relevance and the place for dialogue between brands, initiatives and interested parties. Nestled between art and cultural offers, food concepts and live entertainment, the open space offers the optimal experience space for the mobility of tomorrow. As in 2021, all exhibition spaces in the open space will be realized in a climate-neutral manner. In the last IAA MOBILITY, 2,214 tons of CO2 were compensated. Furthermore, the IAA MOBILITY would like to accompany the social discourse. Among other things, the Citizens Lab on Marienplatz is creating a place for communicative exchange about mobility and habitat development in the city and countryside.

B2B+: IAA Summit – The global industry meeting of mobility for professionally interested audiences

The IAA Summit is the mandatory meeting place for all major players and decision-makers in the field of mobility – from CEO to young professionals and from developers to strategists. With its B2B concept, the IAA Summit also invites decision-makers from politics and society as well as mobility enthusiasts and journalists to actively participate in the development of sustainable mobility. As the center of the dialogue, manufacturers of all forms of mobility, suppliers as well as technology providers and startups come together. The core of the optimized hall concept is to network all providers with each other. This means that the IAA MOBILITY also presents the reality of mobility in its halls. OEMs from the automotive, tech and supplier industries, as well as from the bicycle and micromobility industry, networked thematically at the IAA Summit. Due to the thematic diversity and cross-industry interest, the IAA Summit offers excellent opportunities for the expansion of relevant, new business relationships and future-oriented collaborations between various actors. This symbiosis of mobility is the new guiding principle of the format. Various networking areas, curated partnership areas and the IAA Conference are integrated into it. More than 400 renowned speakers from all aspects of mobility took part in the IAA MOBILITY 2021. For 2023, interested parties canHereparticipate in the Call for Content. Thematically, the IAA Conference is based on the key topics of the IAA MOBILITY 2023: Connected Mobility, Autonomous Mobility, Urban/Rural Mobility, Data & Next Level User Experience as well as Sustainable Mobility & Circular Economy and Smart City Infrastructure & Developing Livable Spaces. In addition, the conference is also devoted in depth to the topics of cycling, LEV & Micromobility Solutions and EVs, Future Fuels & Charging. On 04. September, the press day will also take place with the exhibitor press conferences at the IAA Summit. This is a guarantee of a strong global reach.

IAA Blue Lane – try out sustainable mobility

The latest sustainable mobility offers can be tested at IAA Blue Lane. At the last IAA MOBILITY, there were over 8,800 test drives in all vehicles. For 2023, the organizer team plans with four variants of Blue Lane:

Blue Lane Road

This is a test track for emission-free vehicles, starting in open space or at the exhibition center. In addition, the exhibition center and open space are connected by a bus transfer.

Blue Lane Underground

The already existing subway line 2 between the exhibition center and Königsplatz becomes the Blue Lane Underground during the fair.

Blue Lane Micromobility & Bike

Here you can test the latest models from the bike & micromobility sector on 15.5 km. It is located between Königsplatz and the trade fair city. In addition, further testing possibilities for micromobility in open space are to be created at the IAA MOBILITY 2023.

Blue Lane Future

At the exhibition center, new concept studies and technologies can be tested live for the first time.
