15 years of Neue Messe Stuttgart is an occasion for digital highlights / Some trade fairs impress with the number of visitors at pre-corona level
The 19th October 2007 is a special day for Messe Stuttgart. Federal President Horst Köhler was a guest, with him Prime Minister Günther Oettinger and also Stuttgart’s Lord Mayor Dr. Wolfgang Schuster. The meeting of the prominent personalities was no coincidence and is still historic today: In an official ceremony, the new exhibition center on the Fildern was inaugurated. Only recently, the move from Killesberg has now taken place to the 15th. It’s been a year old. A special occasion that the fair celebrates under the motto 15 Years of New Fair Stuttgart.

Some trade fairs at pre-corona level
“The move to Fildern is a success story for us. Since then, we have been able to celebrate records again and again and push into new spheres with our now ten halls, says Stefan Lohnert, Managing Director of Messe Stuttgart. Of course, our anniversary is also accompanied by the effects of the corona pandemic. Meanwhile, our trade fairs such as the südback, the VISION or the hy-fcell with almost identical or even larger visitor numbers for the pre-Corona years show that we can already move to the level of the past. But it is also clear: Without the caesura, 2020 would have become a new record year in terms of total sales and profit.”
#MyMesseMoment, history slideshow and sustainable fair making are the digital face of the anniversary
Messe Stuttgart has therefore decided to celebrate 15 years of Neue Messe Stuttgart digitally. First of all, employees were able to report with the #MeinMesseMoment campaign in recent months on what their most beautiful experiences have been since the site was on the Fildern. In addition, a trade fair team went to it and prepared the entire history in a slideshow. Since great importance was already attached to the sustainability factor during the construction of the new exhibition center, there is also everything worth knowing about the sustainable development of the site under the motto Sustainable Trade Fair Making.
“With the stories of our employees, our long history and the focus on sustainability, we have covered everything that has distinguished us for the past 15 years and before,” says Stefan Lohnert. “We are already looking forward to the coming years and to being able to celebrate the next anniversary together again on site.”
