【DE】The Nuremberg Inventor Fair iENA lives up to its position as an international meeting place for the inventor scene

The international trade fair “Ideas – Inventions – Novelties” iENA 2022 presented 530 inventions at Messe Nürnberg over four days. This year, more international guests came to Nuremberg to present innovations for the world of tomorrow.

Nuremberg – Last year, the first inventor’s fair was extremely enjoyable after the corona-related break. Exhibiting inventors were already able to hold their first license discussions at the fair. iENA was able to build on this positive restart this year and continue to grow: 530 inventions from 26 countries were presented at iENA 2022. This means that the internationality of the iENA is back and the course for the future of the Nuremberg Inventor Fair has been set.

530 inventions from all over the world

The inventions presented at iENA this year covered all areas of life, such as medicine, energy technology, environmental protection, safety and practical tools for everyday life. Particularly impressive were the innovations of the young inventors, who came to the fair, for example, with Jugend forscht, the Schülerforschungszentrum Südwürttemberg, the Maristengymnasium Fürstenzell, the Apian-Gymnasium Ingolstadt and the Erfinderclub Nussknacker.

As a partner of iENA 2022, the National Research Council of Thailand brought many inventions from Thailand to the iENA. Large international participations and promising inventions also came to the iENA, for example, from Korea, Croatia and Angola.

The expert jury of the iENA examined and evaluated all 530 inventions during the event and this year highlighted the high quality of the inventions. In addition to prototypes and concepts, market-ready products and groundbreaking innovations have already been presented at iENA 2022.

For the inventors, iENA offered the opportunity to network, make contacts and present their products. In addition, iENA offers technical information: The German Patent and Trademark Office DPMA, together with its partners, ensured a high quality of information about patent and trademark rights.

View of the iENA 2023

The iENA is striving back to the successes from the time before the pandemic, so the number of international participations is to be increased again and the number of inventions presented in Nuremberg is to exceed the 700 mark again. The managing directors of the trade fair organizer AFAG, Henning and Thilo Könicke, are pleased about the development of the inventor’s fair: “IENA has almost returned to its old strength and this year’s inventors fair has once again proven that innovations are of great social importance, especially in challenging times. The iENA is finally more international again. In this way, it lives up to its position as an international meeting place for the inventor scene and serves to strengthen the networking of the international inventor scene.”

Next year, the Inventors’ Fair will take place from Thursday, 2nd to Sunday, 5th. November 2023 at Messe Nürnberg and is again open to Consumenta visitors on all days.

The Nuremberg Innovation Congress has positioned itself strongly in terms of content this year. Speakers from business, for example from the successful Würzburg company va-Q-tec, as well as from science and research as well as from Bayern Innovativ set exciting impulses. The Innovation Congress will be further developed and will also be aimed at other target groups in the future. The successful cooperation with the creative and technology fair “Hack & Make” will continue in 2023.
