【DE】Top-class concerts at BRAWO

Renowned groups will perform at the premiere of the wind band fair / Many other highlights from the 18th to the 20th November in the program

With its first edition this year, BRAWO forms the musical framework of the Stuttgart MesseHerbst. The wind band fair offers numerous highlights, including many top-class concerts included in the trade fair ticket. The start will start on Friday, 18. November, the opening concert with the Baden-Württemberg State Police Orchestra (10:30 a.m.). The orchestra has existed since 1920 and has now developed into one of the most renowned professional wind orchestras in Germany.

On the afternoon of the first day of the fair, another highlight is coming up: the concert of the SWR Big Band (4:30 p.m.). The SWR Big Band has so far been nominated four times for the Grammy – the most important music award in the world – and received the “German Jazz Award in Gold” in 2015. On Saturday, 19. November, the Army Music Corps Ulm is on stage (4:30 p.m.). The people of Ulm have an extensive musical repertoire from traditional marches, to classical, chamber music and entertainment.

The conclusion will be on Sunday, 20. November, the Baden-Württemberg State Wind Orchestra (4:00 p.m.). Since its foundation in 1978, it has enjoyed great reputation throughout Europe for its high musical and artistic level. The repertoire includes original compositions and arrangements of classical works. World premieres and chamber music ensembles are part of the annual program of the 85 highly qualified and committed musicians.

Further highlights at BRAWO

The last day of the fair, Sunday, 20. November, BRAWO initiates at 10:30 a.m. with a wind service. All wind instruments are invited to actively participate in the divine service themselves and to make music. Interested parties can register online, as well as download the program and all sheet music to play with.

Andreas Martin Hofmeir is one of the best and most versatile instrumentalists of the present day. As a founding member and tubist of the Bavarian band LaBrassBanda, professor at the Mozarteum Salzburg as well as author and showmaster, he gives master classes and workshops worldwide. Hofmeier gives a musical-cabaret reading at BRAWO and brings his tuba and jazz piano (20. November, 1:00 pm).

In Baden-Württemberg, brass music is deeply anchored in the numerous clubs. Many volunteers are committed and passionate about brass music. In order to honor this commitment, BRAWO honors the volunteers in the Baden-Württemberg music associations on behalf of Toto-Lotto with a total of 5,000 free tickets.
