The first day of the GGS trade fair – Dangerous Goods // Hazardous material at the Leipzig Trade Fair has come to a successful end. The industry platform for dangerous goods and hazardous material logistics will open until Thursday, 10. November, their gates. During this period, visitors can look forward to further highlights.
This was an eye-catcher: This morning, a world premiere was unveiled at the joint stand of Linde Material Handling and the Linde authorized dealers from the East region. At first, the novelty was hidden under a cape, then it came to light: the new Linde Ex-Schutz Forpler E30 L EX – for the first time for Atex areas – attracted attention.
The exclusive presentation of the study “Purchasing logistics services in chemistry – How purchasing can contribute to increasing competitiveness against the background of capacity bottlenecks in transport” was also eagerly awaited. In the Open Forum in Hall 2, Prof. Dr. Christian Kille from the University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt (FHWS), one of the authors of the study, interesting insights into the study results. The subsequent panel discussion with Dr. Andreas Backhaus (Ludwigshafen) and Constantin Reuter (CAMELOT Management Consultants, Basel) also conveyed interesting facts on this topic.
But further highlights are also waiting for visitors on the two upcoming days of the fair: Tomorrow, 9. November, the DENIOS Hazardous Substances Day 2022 and the VCI information event “Dangerous Goods Regulations 2023 – Outlook and Developments” were held for the first time within the framework of the GGS.
DENIOS Hazardous Substances Day 2022 starts tomorrow at 9 a.m. with a lecture on the current topic of lithium-ion batteries. The second lecture entitled “Regulations for the storage of hazardous substances: What’s new?” starts at 11 a.m. The first two lectures will take place on multipurpose area 2 in the Congress Center Leipzig (CCL) and are subject to a fee. The third lecture on best practices in hazardous substance storage can be attended free of charge from 1 p.m. in the Open Forum in Hall 2.
The VCI information event “Dangerous Goods Regulations 2023 – Outlook and Developments” will also begin tomorrow at 9 a.m. in the CCL. Among other things, the lectures “Regulations in land transport (ADN/ADR/RID) – Amendments 2023 – an overview”, “Fast Loading 2.0: Double-layer loading of stable loading units”, “IATA-DGR: CBTA – Implementation of the new regulations from the point of view of the VCI” and “Mobile applications for dangerous goods control made Registration is required for the VCI information event.
In the midst of the trade fair events in Hall 2, exhibitors will also offer know-how for all trade visitors on the next two days of the fair with lectures in the Open Forum and with product demonstrations in the new Action Forum. In the “Meeting Point Dangerous Goods”, the Dangerous Goods Association Germany (GGVD), the ideal carrier of the GGS, designs daily changing lecture blocks on topics of dangerous goods logistics. On the first day of the fair, the lectures at the “Treffpunkt Gefahrgut” received a good response.
In addition, visitors can participate in the practical competition “The transport of dangerous goods – Find the mistakes!” on the two remaining days of the fair – just like today! to participate. The task is to find prepared errors on a truck loaded for the transport of dangerous goods in Hall 2. Those who discover the most mistakes will receive attractive prizes.
