Together with over 30 partners, Forum Moderne Landwirtschaft (FML) is again organising the Farm Experience at the International Green Week in Berlin. Taking as their slogan ’Ensuring food supplies. Protecting nature.’, exhibitors will show how farming maintains high-quality food supplies while at the same time implementing wide-ranging measures to preserve nature, biodiversity and protect animal welfare.
Sustainability and ensuring food supplies – the two are not incompatible with each other. Modern farming can achieve both. The Farm Experience can be found in Hall 3.2.
Why are rapeseed, corn and sugar beet genuine all-rounders? How are cows kept? And what farming measures are there currently in place to improve sustainability, animal welfare and climate protection? At the Farm Experience the focus will be on the farming approaches aimed at resolving the pressing issues of our times –ranging from meat origin labelling, the use of eco-friendly biofuels, to the cultivation of climate-resistant crop varieties. Visitors can find out how farming machines process satellite data, how wheat and oats are fertilised without impacting nature, and how diseases can be precision-treated.
Fascinating discussion rounds on modern farming
In addition to the various Farm Experience stands, the hall will feature a wide-ranging programme of stage events, where ensuring food supplies, sustainability and climate protection will be the dominant themes. Presenter Helena Felixberger and her guests will take visitors on a fascinating tour of the world of modern farming. Discussions will take place on topical issues surrounding farming production, consumer products, biodiversity and its preservation, animal welfare, protecting the climate and ensuring food supplies.
Chatting with the AgrarScouts
Whether their work is in the stables or the fields – the Farm Experience is where visitors can meet the AgrarScouts, real farmers involved in a dialogue with the consumer. They will be offering information and happy to discuss topical farming issues and talk about their day-to-day work on the farm.
Visitors to the AgrarScout stand (101) can also take part in a fascinating rally around the halls. FML is offering school classes to register for guided school tours with Messe Berlin. These will also take place with the AgrarScouts. Information on the guided school tours is available at gruenewoche.de/en/visit/student-program/
“The war in Ukraine and its impact has made it clear to us all how important ensuring a reliable supply of locally produced foods is. At the same time people want meat and crop production to be more sustainable“, said Lea Fließ, Managing Director of Forum Moderne Landwirtschaft. “At the Farm Experience we want to provide a fascinating close-up of farming in the stables and the fields and show how sustainable our food production is, both now and in the future. We want to illustrate that sustainability and ensuring food supplies are not incompatible with each other, but that these measures are already being practised by farmers in Germany.”
Information on the ticket shop and accreditation:
