【DE】Green Week 2023: Federal Environment Ministry informs about natural climate protection

Inform, try out, get to know each other – the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection shows at Green Week how climate and biodiversity protection are related.

From the sea to the forests, from moors to urban nature – the Federal Ministry for the Environment provides from the 20th to the 29th January 2023 at the International Green Week, how important intact ecosystems are and what we can all do for climate protection. Under the umbrella of the new theme world grünerleben, the BMUV in Halle hub27 invites you to try out and become active with the help of a variety of exhibits: Visitors can, for example, use artificial intelligence to determine plants, recognize wild animals by their voices or experience what natural or straightened river courses mean for the environment with a simulation. Theme islands offer small and old visitors the opportunity to discover the ecosystems wilderness and forests, soils and moors, rivers, lakes and sea as well as urban nature. Knowledge and tips for your own everyday life are imparted playfully and entertainingly, promises the Federal Ministry for the Environment.

In keeping with the new theme world of grünerleben, the central theme of the exhibition stand is natural climate protection. Visitors learn how closely the climate crisis and the species crisis are related and that both crises can only be solved together. Intact ecosystems are natural climate protectors and offer important habitats for plants and animals. However, it is not only about the question of how the Federal Ministry for the Environment wants to improve and strengthen the long-term protection and preservation of these ecosystems with the “Action Program Natural Climate Protection”, but also about how each and every individual can protect natural resources in everyday life.
