Practically applicable and a practical knowledge adapted to market conditions creates the basis for entrepreneurial success in the promotional products industry. Right now and, of course, beyond the borders of the DACH region. That’s why the leading European trade fair PSI is setting for the comeback 2023 from the 10th to the 12th. January in Düsseldorf on an extensive supporting program. Divided into the topic blocks “Sustainability”, “Added Value” and “Practical Knowledge”, experts show international trade visitors strategies to meet new developments and current challenges in a focused manner.

 

Finally, the time has come again: after a two-year break, the PSI opens on the 10th. January 2023 for three days at the Düsseldorf exhibition center. The current visitor registrations for the first presence PSI since 2020 reflect how great the joy of reunion is. “We are very pleased about the popularity from home and abroad,” reports PSI Director Petra Lassahn and continues: “Demand has increased noticeably and especially qualitatively, the previous visitor registrations give us an enormous motivation boost.”

In the PSI Forum in Hall 10, renowned experts give important impulses. Thus, under the main topic “Practical Knowledge” e.g. Give “Step by Step Digital” lectures. Dennis Arntjen from KMU Digital shows in his keynote “Hybrid sales in times of digital change” how digitization can be used for his own sales success, while Michael Bromberger from GERNET Printpack GmbH in his article “Digitization as a business guarantor. This is how business runs in times of Industry 4.0, which contribution standardized workflows make to ensuring secure order processing, reliable production processes and binding delivery times.

 

Also exciting is the lecture “From screen to gift. This is how modern advertising media activation works in online customer communication via websites” by Peter Beichel, ipm Werbemittel GmbH, or the online marketing lecture “Sales Engine Website in 2023”. Here Thorsten Bastian from the Internet and marketing agency next2brain explains what a webshop must offer and how website visitors become customers.

 

Knowledge sharing: From the industry for the industry

 

An important pillar of the PSI Framework Programme is the “Added Value” topic. Here, the experts show interesting opportunities and possibilities – each on hot focus topics such as packaging and sustainability. A highlight is Alexander Stork’s keynote. The deputy head of economics and consultant for energy, sustainability, mobility and logistics at BVMW, Der Mittelstand, addresses the question “Sustainability: flower topic or business booster? How companies benefit from the megatrend and secure competitive advantages.”

 

Saskia-Melina Jacobs from Langebartels & Jürgens Druckereigesellschaft mbH explains where printing, material and finishing are going and what constitutes sustainable packaging production. Hendrik Habermann from the habermann agency shows to the highest of two how special series offer emotional added value for the customer by presenting best practices of this profitable genre of the promotional products industry.

 

Work and promowear: a plea for sustainability

 

Motivating the textile industry in the field of workwear and promotional clothing to be more sustainable – that’s what the Textile Theme Day on the 11th is about. January. At 12.30 p.m., the international expert for sustainability, Sustainable Textile & Fashion, Bianca Seidel, makes a plea for the transformation of the industry and looks hopefully into the future. This is followed by the panel discussion of the Academy for Textile Finishing. Here, Aiko Wichmann from the city of Dortmund discusses with consultant Maike Ewuntomah and Stefan Roller-Aßfalg from Aka Merch und Textil GmbH about sustainability requirements in public tenders. Central question: Do ecological criteria such as seals, textile tenders and procurement change?

 

Role models that show what is possible

 

But also at the Textile Campus in Hall 10, the potential of sustainability is examined in a practical and segment-specific manner. Here, experts give valuable impulses for sustainable textile production, fair and ecological supply chains, ecodesign, circular economy, recycling and upcycling, seals, standards and certifications. Consultants, universities, initiatives, companies and upcyclers will be on site. These include the Ecosign Academy for Design, the Circular Sweater Project, Pure Waste, Planet Upcycling, HTW Berlin and the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences. Another highlight in terms of sustainability is the traveling exhibition ökoRAUSCH Wissenswelt in Hall 10.

 

Do it yourself: Apply knowledge practically

 

In support of the concentrated theory, trade visitors can gain practical experience on current labelling and finishing techniques at the special show Finishing and Personalization. In Hall 10, specialists such as Roland DG and Stahls’ Europe invite you to personalize different products from pencils to T-shirts by hand.

 

Connect worldwide in the PSI International Lounge

 

The promotional products industry is an industry that thrives on trade and exchange across countries and continents. As an international network, PSI supports its members in building new markets and good contacts – not least through its close cooperation with industry associations around the world, which it brings to the 2023 trade fair.

 

Not only the General Association of the Promotional Products Industry, GWW, based in Germany, will be represented with its own stand at PSI. High-ranking representatives of aimfap, ASI, BAPP, BPMA, FYVAR, IFEMA, IPPAG, PIAP, PPP, SBPR and Sourcing City are also available for personal exchange in the International Lounge in Hall 10.
