After the horse & hunting had to be cancelled two years in a row due to the pandemic, it resumed and continued its successful ride in 2022. In total, well over 70,000 people visited the four-day performance show of the hunting and equestrian industry to find out about the latest products and trends from more than 550 exhibitors and, above all, to shop.
According to a representative survey by the Dortmund market research institute Gelszus, as in 2019, exactly 89 percent of visitors bought or ordered something and spent an average of 457 euros (2019: 316 euros). Klaudia Kohl, Head of Consumer Fairs at Deutsche Messe AG: “This shows how much people were looking forward to horse & hunting. And that it was the right decision to hold the fair. Even if we had a little fewer exhibitors due to the general situation. We are sure that this year’s success of Pferd & Jagd will convince the exhibitors who have held back this year to participate again and the fair continues to grow.”
For most exhibitors, this year’s event was actually a great success.
Werner Becker from Becker Jagdkleidung: “We have been on horse & hunting for 30 years – and this year the result was also extremely satisfactory. We have done a very good deal, in addition, the infrastructure in Hanover is excellent, as is the support. We will enlarge again next year.”
Philipp Bücker, Bücker Trailer: “We are very satisfied with the fair. Horse & Hunting is our favorite fair and guarantees a good Christmas business. The visitors come to our stand in a very targeted manner, and in fact our most expensive followers were gone first. We are very happy that there are fairs again.”
Hesham Khalifa, Blaser Jagdwaffen: “We expected fewer visitors and are positively surprised. From day one. The customers are really hungry after the long break.”
Marco Voges, area manager Böckmann horse trailer: “Despite the current tense time, we are very satisfied. We have reached important customers. Horse & Hunting is our most important fair of the year.”
Petra Dieckmann, owner Spooks clothing: “We are super satisfied, the visitors were in an absolute buying mood and were happy to be able to spend money again after the corona break.”
Positive feedback also from visitors to this year’s event. According to the market research institute Gelszus, 91 percent said they would visit the fair again next year, 86 percent said they were satisfied with Pferd & Jagd, 89 percent want to recommend it.
The horse & hunting – much more than just a pure product show. The fair once again offered associations and associations the opportunity to present their work and projects to a large audience. Among other things, the Landesjägerschaft Niedersachsen was involved, as well as the Association of Hunting Dogs as well as the Equestrian Sports Association Hannover and Pferdeland Niedersachsen GmbH. Their managing director Alexandra Duesmann knows about the importance of horse & hunting for the horse country of Lower Saxony: “People literally consumed themselves after the fair, the catching up to do was huge. Our stand was extremely well received, even besieged. The fair is so important for Lower Saxony and beyond because it depicts the entire topic of horses – in all its facets.”
This is also the case with regard to the horse show. Two evenings, the gala “Night of Horses” captivated visitors and thrilled the audience from the first minute with international riding stars such as Gilles Fortier, Alizée Froment or Anna Blomgren. Equally enthusiastic were visitors to the horse children’s pony show MiMaMo on Saturday and Sunday. Horse & Hunting Project Manager Sandra Busse: “MiMaMo is the absolute highlight in the run-up to Christmas. It’s always nice to see how enthusiastic the children are, how attentive and happy they follow the events in the arena.” In total, more than 9000 fans came to the shows.
The next horse & hunt will take place from the 7th to the 10th. December 2023.
I would like to thank you for the numerous, informative and always fair reporting and wish you a Merry Christmas season and a healthy New Year.
