Exciting program for trade visitors at the active holiday fair as part of the CMT 2023 in Stuttgart
Inform, inspire and network: As part of a total of five specialist forums, lectures and network events, the active holiday fair Bicycle and Hiking Travel brings the industry together in Stuttgart. From 13th to 17th January 2023, experts present and discuss current topics in the outdoor travel industry – around hiking and biking. The spectrum ranges from digitization in cycling tourism to hiking infrastructure and bicycle design to financing tips and funding opportunities. It says: Register now and secure seats in good time.
Trends, developments and digitization: RadRunde as a warm-up trade fair
The start of the B2B program is the fifth edition of the cycling tourism conference on Friday, 13. January, from 1 p.m. at Congress West. It starts with a get-together, a greeting from Kristine Simonis, state board member ADFC Baden-Württemberg, and the keynote on business opportunities for German destinations by Jill Warren, Managing Director of the European Cyclists Association. Sabine Schulze, Managing Director of ADFC Bett+Bike Service GmbH, and GPS expert Thomas Froitzheim from Naviso Outdoornavigation will then talk about how tour data can be checked for their quality for their quality at the impulse lecture “Route 3.0 – Quality of digital bike service data as the key to high-quality offers in cycling tourism” among other things, about how tour data can be checked for their quality. Königswinterer Kreis present for the first time in Stuttgart
After the Königswinterer Kreis – a forum of proven hiking experts from all over Germany – held its symposium in Düsseldorf for many years, it will be there for the first time in Stuttgart in 2023. Under the title “Voluntary or mandatory: Financing of the hiking infrastructure” on Saturday, 14. January, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. in Congress West, the maintenance of the hiking infrastructure was discussed with exciting contributions and solutions. In view of the different approaches and financial starting points in the municipalities, this is an explosive topic throughout Germany and one more reason to use examples from other countries. New Mobility Design Congress – Sustainable design for bicycles and cyclists
Functionality meets design: The topics of two-wheelers, sustainability and mobility have become indispensable today. However, not only technical but also design aspects play an important role for cyclists. It is precisely these aspects that the New Mobility Design Congress on Monday, 16. January, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Congress West. Organized by Wirtschaftsförderung Region Stuttgart GmbH, the congress brings designers together with mobile industries. The focus is on bicycle design in the broadest sense. According to the presentation of all speakers by Éva Ádám, bicycle representative state capital Stuttgart, the lectures deal, for example, with the question of how two-wheel design has developed over time and will develop in the future, or infrastructure – such as cycle paths or parking facilities – and innovative manufacturing processes or new materials for clothing. Basic and current questions are taken up: How can paths be created to meet all road users? How can urban development integrate bicycles and what role do designers play in this? To register until 12. The ProCycle Outdoortreff, a specialist event for bicycle and hiking specialists, will take place on Monday, 16. January, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Congress West about the signage as well as possible subsidies for cycling and hiking network: Christian Ludewig takes up the important topic of signage with a coherent system for hiking and cycling in the lecture “Basics of regional visitor guidance” at 2 p.m. – register here.

January, the topic of visitor guidance is on the program: From 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., Hartmut Wimmer, Managing Director at Outdooractive AG, talks in his lecture “Sustainable tourism in nature sports – How digitization helps” that visitor guidance can only succeed if those responsible already involve the tourists in the planning phase – digitally and personalized.

The CMT 2023
CMT, the world’s largest public fair for tourism and leisure, will take place from the 14th to the 22nd. January 2023 at the Stuttgart exhibition center. It is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; admission from 9 a.m. The holiday fair is supplemented by its daughters bicycle and hiking trips, golf and wellness trips as well as cruise and ship trips.
