Topics at the pulse of time
With its high-quality supporting program, eight special shows and some newly set priorities, this year’s didacta addresses the impressions of global social changes. Challenges such as the integration of children and young people from Ukraine, the crises of democracy and discussion culture or the requirements of education for sustainable development require more than ever strong pedagogical concepts. The associated education congress of the municipal state associations also deals with pressing questions of the future.
In the meantime, the trade fair is once again fully relying on the exchange on site. With success, because two thirds of the exhibition space is already occupied. “As a trade fair, we are particularly pleased that the well-known educational publishers have agreed,” says Claudia Döttinger, member of the management board of Messe Stuttgart. With the Association of Education and Training, the German Teachers’ Association, the Federal Association of Teachers for Vocational Education and Training and the Alliance for Education, other strong partners are on board. In addition, more than 100 of the German schools present themselves abroad for the first time and thus strengthen the international profile of the fair.
Comprehensive supporting program, accents through new topics
As a well-rehearsed format, didacta informs and debates about the status quo and the future of education in Germany in the four forums educational perspectives, school practice, vocational education and myQ. In addition, the daycare seminars department is joined by a comprehensive training program; educational start-ups also present their latest ideas on almost 400 square meters. “This year’s didacta also sets some new thematic priorities with a view to the coming years,” says Didacta Managing Director Reinhard Koslitz. The training format mobile.schule is on site for the first time in Stuttgart after Cologne and offers program and workshops on all days of the fair. “In the special area ‘Immersive Worlds of Experience’, the digital future is addressed with virtual and augmented reality as well as haptic learning content around the ‘Metaverse’ in the education sector and the specially established ‘Speakers Area’ serves companies as a presentation space,” Koslitz continues. In addition, ‘so geht MEDIEN’, Deutschlandradio, SWR and ZDF will offer an all-day joint program on Saturday around the exciting field of media didactics at the Forum Bildungsperspektiven.
Education Congress: Numerous participants expected
One of the highlights of didacta is also this year the Education Congress of the municipal state associations, which also focuses on the future of education entitled “The 2020s – Decade of School Modernization”. Among others, Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann, State Parliament President Muhterem Aras, Minister of Culture Theresa Schopper and the group chairmen of all parties will be present at the congress in the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg. “In addition, we expect more than 1,000 participants from the municipalities – a really big educational event, at which some political course can certainly be set,” Koslitz is pleased.
