Highlights of FOOD & LIFE 2022 included the presentation of the Bavarian gourmet treasures, the new Greek and Italian joint participations, the regional gin and spirits manufacturers as well as the numerous local specialties of manufactories. The new products of the food start-up scene also attracted great attention: 24 start-ups from Germany and Austria took part in the fair.
“I am overwhelmed by the great interest of the audience”
The fact that practice beats the theory when enjoying it was clearly felt in the exhibition hall: “The consumer does not see how my vegetarian minced meat tastes on the closed package. At the fair, interested parties had the opportunity to try it out and convince themselves of the quality of my new product. It sold out very quickly,” says Albrecht von Schultzendorff, founder of the start-up Möhrengrün. “I didn’t expect that,” he adds. Mònica Riera Willius, Managing Director of Premifair GmbH, also draws a positive conclusion: “I am overwhelmed by the crowd and the great interest of the audience. Our goal was to increase awareness of our high-quality Paccari chocolate and to receive direct feedback from consumers. We are very satisfied and will definitely be back next time!”
Newcomer Award 2022 goes to eatventure, The Fredel and Dekodray
For the first time, the audience of FOOD & LIFE was able to vote for their favorites among the participating start-ups. Among the numerous founders who took part in the fair this year, eatventure from Werlte (district of Emsland, Lower Saxony) won the most votes with the liquid spices in the glass. The Fredel from Seeshaupt (district of Weilheim-Schongau, Bavaria) reached second place, who also thrilled the audience with its fresh pestos and sauces. Dekodray from Salem (Bodenseekreis, Baden-Württemberg) was third with the sustainable PROPS lemonade made of blueberries and lemon. The three start-ups were launched on Saturday, 03. December in the FORUM of FOOD & LIFE.
