In addition to the attractive exhibition offer at Intec, Z and GrindTec 2023, the practice-oriented specialist program of the trade fair network also sets impulses and promotes knowledge transfer and dialogue within the industry. From 7th to 10th March 2023, important, forward-looking technology topics will be examined in a variety of formats at the Leipzig Trade Fair, bringing together research, practice and economic policy.

Additive manufacturing – modern technology is evolving
The dynamic process of integrating additive manufacturing into industrial production is the focus of the special show and the specialist forum “Additive Manufacturing – Evolution of Modern Technology”. Exhibits exhibited become an attraction in the exhibition hall on a special area – the exhibitors 3D-Metall Theobald, METROM Mechatronic Machines and TRUMPF Laser- und Systemtechnik, among others, participate in this. In the specialist forum, Dr. Blanka Szost-Ouk, Head of Additive Manufacturing, Predevelopment & Planning at the BMW Group, the keynote entitled “Successful Industrialization and Digitization of Additive Manufacturing.” In addition, experts for the industry shed light on important topics in various sessions such as “Digitization and automation in additive manufacturing”, “Sustainability and cost-effectiveness of additive manufacturing” or “Toolmaking by means of additive manufacturing”.
New concepts around the key technology of sensors in focus
The transformation of industrial production through digitization and automation requires the targeted, innovative use of sensors. At the special show and the specialist forum “Sensors – Use and Perspectives in Production”, experts present, for example, the requirements and new concepts around the key sensor technology with proven, evolving production methods. Topics such as intelligent production through sensors, trends in sensors and human-robot collaboration are taken up. Selected lectures by exhibitors as well as presentations from start-ups are also waiting for visitors.
Topic “Fuel Cell Hub – Value Creation through Hydrogen” for the first time
A new component of the specialist program is the forward-looking technology topic “Fuel Cell Hub – Value Creation through Hydrogen.” Science and industry are challenged to pool their competencies to meet the challenges of efficient industrial large-scale production of hydrogen systems. For this to succeed, technologies must be analyzed, for example, and evaluated with regard to their use for quality-oriented series production. A joint stand and a four-day specialist colloquium, which are implemented in cooperation with the HZwo Innovation Cluster and the Fraunhofer Institute for Machine Tools and Forming Technology IWU, show potential for the supplier industry and give impetus on how to align its production with the new field of application.
GrindTec’s diverse specialist program sets accents
GrindTec also offers an extensive, practical specialist program, which the Association of Precision Tool Mechanics e. V. (FDPW), the professional sponsor of GrindTec, together with the organizer Leipziger Messe. An integral part is the GrindTec FORUM with informative lectures from practice, theory and science as well as the subsequent opportunity for exchange at the FDPW booth. The GrindTec CHALLENGE is exciting. Behind this is the “Tool Grinder of the Year” competition, which has been known since 2006. On site in the exhibition hall, young precision tool grinders from various companies prove their skills and can win titles, recognition and attractive prizes.
The GrindTec INNOVATION AWARD, which will be awarded for the second time in March next year, honors products, processes and services that impress with innovative strength, performance and sustainability. The award ceremony takes place during the fair and thus honors the special importance of the award-winning ideas. A meeting place for crafts, research and business is once again the GrindTec CAMPUS, where colleges and universities inform trade fair visitors about their state of research, their latest findings and current activities. A special highlight is: Under the motto “University meets Practice”, researchers and entrepreneurs from trade and industry meet as part of a speed dating.

Industry’s Hidden Champions Conference – on the pulse of transformation
On the 7th March 2023, the Industry’s Hidden Champions Conference will take place for the third time. The Saxon Minister of State for Economic Affairs, Labour and Transport, Martin Dulig, invites you to the event as part of the trade fair network in Leipzig under the title “On the pulse of transformation – world market leader in uncertain times.” The aim is to shed light on the entrepreneurial transformation successes of medium-sized world market leaders and the underlying strategic patterns of action. Management and shareholders of Hidden Champions present their successful transformation efforts in relevant industries and value creation networks in “Powerful Practices.” Among other things, the content includes new platforms as well as digital applications – for example smart services -, innovative technologies in production and construction – for example in automotive engineering – and resource-efficient business models such as circular economy or Cradle 2 cycles. Meyer Burger Technology was won over for the keynote of the conference. Further contributions are made by TRUMPF Werkzeugmaschinen, Wandelbots and Freiberger Compound Materials, among others. CONTACT Business Meetings: Establishing contacts across national borders
For the 15th. Edition of the CONTACT Business Meetings invite the Saxon network partners of the Enterprise Europe Network and the IHK zu Leipzig on the 8th. March 2023 at the Leipzig Trade Fair. Cross-border partnerships for complete solutions along the value chain are becoming a decisive factor due to the globalized economy and international competition.
