New industry meeting in Munich attracts 3,200 participants from all over southern Germany and exceeds expectations
After three days, on the 30th. November 2022 the first therapie MÜNCHEN – an event of the Leipziger Messe – has been successfully completed. At the new industry meeting for therapy and medical rehabilitation, 110 exhibitors showed the 3,200 trade visitors their new products, trends and services around the everyday therapeutic professional life of the remedy providers. The accompanying congress program was also very popular. The exhibition areas were framed by the extensive offer of the world’s leading trade fair for sports, ISPO Munich.
“We have succeeded excellently in establishing the successful concept of therapie LEIPZIG in southern Germany. With the proven mixture of innovative trade fair and top-class congress program, therapie MÜNCHEN has made a very good start. This success contributes significantly to the further development of our four therapy fairs in Germany,” sums up the managing director of the Leipzig Trade Fair, Martin Buhl-Wagner.
“The positive feedback on the exhibitor and visitor side confirmed to us that the industry has been waiting for a platform like therapie MÜNCHEN,” adds Birgit Mücklich, project director of therapie MÜNCHEN. “The German and Austrian visitors were enthusiastic about the quality of the trade fair, while our exhibitors appreciated the expertise of the visitors. An enrichment for us was also the parallelism with ISPO Munich, which will continue to create further opportunities for cooperation in the future.”
ISPO Munich is the world’s largest trade fair and source of inspiration for the global sports community, where the entire range of sports shoes, sports fashion and sporting goods is presented. Interested trade visitors to the leading trade fair used therapie MÜNCHEN to inform themselves and be inspired across industries.
Great satisfaction with the event
The response from visitors and exhibitors to therapie MÜNCHEN was consistently positive. In the official survey of the independent market research company Gelszus Messe-Marktforschung (GMM), 89 percent of exhibitors emphasized the high level of professional competence on the part of the visiting audience. More than 70 percent of all trade visitors are therefore involved in important consulting and procurement decisions in their companies and practices.
The new industry platform scored points among visitors with the combination of presented product diversity and specialized training offers. 93 percent of trade visitors stated that they wanted to attend the upcoming edition of therapie MÜNCHEN and 97 percent recommend the event. The more than 70 accompanying seminars and workshops in the congress and trade fair program were also very well received. Visitors appreciated the scientific lectures and symposia for the professional exchange of knowledge and certified further training, which gave them well-founded insights into new, evidence-based therapy methods.

Stage for professional policy issues
The joint panel discussion between Physio Austria and PHYSIO-DEUTSCHLAND met with great interest on the second evening of the fair. Under the premise of learning from each other, the professional associations addressed, among other things, the standing of physiotherapy in the respective health system, exchanged experiences in relation to academization and made future forecasts for physiotherapy. “We have been waiting for an event concept like that of therapie MÜNCHEN for a long time,” sums up Stefan Moritz, Managing Director of Physio Austria. “Our panel discussion and trade fair participation enabled us to exchange ideas with therapists from Austria and Germany and to make new contacts. We are already looking forward to the next event.”
The Association for Physiotherapy (VPT) e.V. also participated in therapie MÜNCHEN with professional policy topics and specifically addressed young therapeutic talent. Through an interdisciplinary symposium, the VPT also enriched the congress with the latest findings in the treatment of long COVID sufferers.
therapie MÜNCHEN will take place again in 2024. The next event in the therapie calendar is therapie LEIPZIG from the 4th to the 6th. May 2023.

As the largest trade fair with congress for therapy, medical rehabilitation and prevention in Germany, therapie LEIPZIG offers a complete market overview. In the 2019 anniversary event, 371 exhibitors from 12 countries showed 16,800 trade fair visitors their innovations and current industry trends at the Leipzig Trade Fair. Physiotherapists and occupational therapists, speech therapists, trainers, doctors, sports scientists and sports therapists as well as managers of outpatient rehabilitation centers, acute and rehabilitation clinics from all over Germany used the congress for professional training and further education. The next therapie LEIPZIG will take place from the 4th to the 6th. May 2023 at the Leipzig exhibition center.
With therapie DÜSSELDORF, therapie HAMBURG and therapie MÜNCHEN, Leipziger Messe brings the excellent range of events even closer to the therapeutic professional groups in the west, north and south of Germany. The premiere of therapie DÜSSELDORF on the 16th and 17th September 2022 counted 2,100 visitors and 83 exhibitors. The next therapie DÜSSELDORF is on the 15th and 16th. September 2023 planned. Dietherapie HAMBURG is organized together with the Hamburg Messe und Congress and recorded in its 3. Edition on the 28th and 29th October 2022 2,700 visitors and 120 exhibitors. The upcoming therapie HAMBURG will take place on the 25th and 26th. October 2024 at the Hamburg exhibition center. At the premiere of therapie MÜNCHEN, 110 exhibitors presented their products and services related to everyday therapeutic work to 3,200 visitors. The next therapie MÜNCHEN will take place in Munich in 2024.
