【DE】The world’s largest congress on allergology and clinical immunology will come to Hamburg in 2023

Another good news for Hamburg as a congress and trade fair city: From the 9th to the 11th June 2023, the annual congress of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) will take place in the new CCH – Congress Center Hamburg in a hybrid format. The medical congress with accompanying exhibition will be held for the first time in Hamburg. In total, about 8,000 participants from all over the world are expected in presence and online.

Together, the Hamburg Convention Bureau and the team of the CCH – Congress Center Hamburg had succeeded in winning over those responsible for the EAACI for hosting their congress in Hamburg in 2023.

The world’s largest congress on allergology and clinical immunology takes place annually and offers experts a wide selection of conferences with partly interactive formats and a wide range of training opportunities. At the beginning of July 2022, the EAACI Congress in Prague had successfully taken place as a hybrid event.

The motto of the congress, “Pathways from precision medicine to personalized care”, is dedicated to providing medical solutions aimed at improving the individual living conditions of patients. The congress delegates at the CCH will share their knowledge and experience with the world’s leading specialists and report on their latest innovations in the fields of precision medicine, food allergies, allergen immunotherapy, biopharmaceuticals, immunomodulators, prevention of allergic diseases, novel allergy and asthma therapies, planetary health and other areas.

“In terms of the number of participants and short presentations submitted, the EAACI Annual Congress is the largest and most important conference in our field. This year we can hold the congress at a fantastic and easily accessible venue – the Congress Center Hamburg – that meets all our requirements. Please also register, because it is your participation that makes our annual congress international, lively, scientifically versatile and successful year after year,” said EAACI President Stefano Del Giacco.

“We are looking forward to the EAACI Annual Congress 2023 at CCH, a modern and unique event center and an ideal setting for the great science that will be discussed there this year! In Hamburg – a city with an important history as a commercial center, which we have identified as the most suitable location for exchange in our field, allergology and clinical immunology – 120 scientific meetings and practical workshops will take place over three days and many opportunities for networking,” explained Mohamed Shamji, EAACI Vice President Congresses.

Science Senator Katharina Fegebank: “Medical congresses have become an integral part of Hamburg. They are the occasion for the important exchange with scientists and doctors from all over the world and thus boost scientific progress and transfer – here on site and internationally. It is precisely through this type of international cooperation that science and research become the problem solvers of today. I am very pleased that with the annual congress of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, we can welcome such an important medical congress and the many researchers this year.”

The new CCH – Congress Center Hamburg is state-of-the-art, flexible, sustainable, barrier-free and offers important medical congresses such as the international congress of the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology an excellent framework for exchange and know-how transfer, says Heike Mahmoud, Chief Operating Officer of CCH. “A warm welcome to the participants of the EAACI – the CCH will thus be a platform for forward-looking, innovative topics in June 2023.”

Michael Otremba, Managing Director of Hamburg Tourismus GmbH: “Moin and welcome to Hamburg EAACI! We have made a targeted effort to this congress because, in addition to the economic effects, we also hope for a transfer of knowledge in the field of allergology for the corresponding experts from the region and Germany. The award shows that Hamburg can position itself very clearly and positively in competition with other important metropolises in the conference and congress industry.”
