From 11th to 12th As usual, BOE INTERNATIONAL will present its core competencies in live communication as well as MICE and business travel at the beginning of the year. Knowledge, interaction and networking promotes the content-rich supporting program, which will be even more extensively dedicated to all topics and future challenges of the event industry in 2023.

 

Dortmund – At BOE INTERNATIONAL from 11th to 12th January 2023, trade fair visitors will experience a compact exhibitor portfolio from all segments of the event industry – from market leaders to niche providers for special requirements. In addition, numerous lectures, panels, interviews and performances cover all facets of the industry from know-how to show on a total of six stages and another action area. Special highlights are the interview talks with ex-professional footballer and brand ambassador Rúrik Gíslason as well as Dr. Georg Kofler, entrepreneur and juror at the TV show ”

 

LET’S TALK STAGE (Hall 4)

 

On the first day, everything revolves around sustainability in the event industry, for which BOE INTERNATIONAL is campaigning together with its strategic sustainability partner 2bdifferent. The focus is on the intelligent circular economy for trade fair and event concepts without waste. Dr. Christoph Soukup approaches this topic together with other experts. In addition, CO2 accounting is on the agenda. Another topic is sustainable destination management with representatives from convention offices and event locations, city marketing and congress organizers. 2bdifferent talks about how the so-called systemic certification is implemented in practice in the ISO 20121 Talk. Legal framework conditions for the Climate Protection Act were the trigger for fwd: Federal Association of Event Industry and the International Federation of Exhibition & Event Services (IFES) together with the consulting agency 2bdifferent to launch a convoy solution for sustainability in the event industry. What is behind the sustainable concept will also be an issue.

 

A special stage highlight is the interview with ex-professional footballer Rúrik Gíslason in conversation with event presenter Aljoscha Höhn at 17:00 on the 11th. January. The popular Icelander is known to many not only from his active time as a national player, but also as a TV guest, influencer, brand ambassador and entrepreneur. At the end of the talk, he will surprise viewers with his musical talent in a small live performance. On the following day of the fair, the BOE partner digital excellence / act&react will play the stage.

From 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the main topics Neo Ecology, Digital Natives and Digital Ethics will be represented with numerous lectures and sessions. The DIGITAL FORUM at the DIGITAL STAGE (Hall 7)

 

Exciting topic worlds from social media to AI and VR/AR, ethics on the net, metaverse, gamification, robotics, digital tools and trends for event events to digital marketing are already on the 7th. DIGITAL FORUM organized in cooperation with the IST university. As in previous years, the stage program is supported by Speakers Excellence. At the beginning, there will be an inspiring talk with Dr. Georg Kofler, serial entrepreneur with passion and expert in communication, marketing and e-commerce. He explains why entrepreneurship is much more than just an economic activity for him and reasoning is a decision for a self-determined life. This is followed by the lectures “Meme Marketing” with Sebastian Galla, Managing Director Brandneo, and “The Decathlon Tactics – Success Can Be Planned” with the Athlete of the Year Frank Busemann. Alexandra Löwe, research assistant at IST, explains what belongs to “change readiness”. Director Marco Dittrich illuminates “Formats that work online and offline” in the colleagues’ round and gives insights into dramaturgy and team play. Marc Gassert, international speaker, trainer and author, inspires with his lecture “Do it now! – Not starting that is rewarded, but perseverance”. Dr. James Morgan, Dean of the International Tourism and Hospitality College in Riyadh and founder of the event technology consulting firm Event Tech Lab, explains Event Design and Technology Trends 2023. On the second day, there will be further interesting lecture sessions. For example, Prof. Dr. Thomas R. Köhler, author and expert in future technologies, the topics “Metaverse, Web3 and Co – the next milestone in digitization”. In PodSelling® (Podcast + Sales), Ulf Zinne, author, trainer, TV presenter and podcaster, outlines the way to become the number 1 in the ears of interested parties. “Gamification! How to set new impulses to the POI with AR & AI,” addresses Lena Gabold, Customer Success Manager at SENSAPE. Juan Leguizamon, Executive Experience Creative Director Havas Germany, gives insights into virtual purgatory with “VIRTUAL PURGATORY” in his lecture in English.

 

SAFETY & SECURITY STAGE (Hall 4)

 

The stage program on relevant questions of event safety is designed by the Bundesverband Veranstaltungssicherheit e.V. (bvvs), supported by the Verband für Medien- und Veranstaltungstechnik e.V. (VPLT). The explanations of “12 1⁄2 years after the Love Parade Duisburg 2010 – What have we learned from it? How do we proceed?” by the award-winning security expert and university professor Dr. Ing. Jürgen Gerlach. Interesting insights are provided by the lecture slot “A must and future standard: Risk assessment as an easy-to-use standard tool protects against incorrect investments and planning errors” by Sven Hansen, Managing Director Event Safety Consult. A top-class panel will address the aspect of “Social sustainability: workers and specialists in times of demographic change.” Other topics include “Fabelland Insurance – what opportunities arise for companies in the design of their insurance risk” and “Risk management rethought – company protection and liquidity solutions for the event industry” with representatives of Erpam GmbH, an experienced special insurer for entertainment and events. Dennis Eichenbrenner, specialist planner for visitor safety and chairman of the Federal Association for Event Security, talks on “Sanity service at events – Plan yourself, instead of algorithm?”

 

COMMUNICATION STAGE (Hall 5)

 

On this stage, trade fair visitors have a wide range of industry topics and extensive space for networking. The COMMUNICATION STAGE is supported by NEXTLIVE and fwd: Bundesvereinigung der Veranstaltungswirtschaft e.V. Immediately after the opening talk with NEXTLIVE editor-in-chief Sjoerd Weikamp, the lecture “The large industry salary cost comparison – skills, salaries, fees and special services in the event industry 2022” with Prof. Dr. Cornelia Zanger. It also presents top speakers from agencies and companies on Learn from the Best – Outstanding Event Showcases, Sustainability and Digitalization as well as the Trends 2023. Another highlight is the panel “The Human Touch: Trade fair encounter rethought!” by bvik, Bundesverband Industrie Kommunikation e.V., which is moderated by Michaela-Susan Pollok and Kim Kugelmann. Talk rounds on the Federal Conference of the Event Industry and the new fwd: Servicegesellschaft as a quality marketplace for trade fair and event construction are planned by fwd:. In another round on “Sustainability in LiveCom – what matters most for future generations!” Sustainability is discussed from the perspective of young and future generations.

 

MICE STAGE (Hall 7)

 

The program starts on the 11th. January with the keynote of the winner “Newcomer of the Year 2023 by GSA”, which was only chosen the day before by the German Speaker Association. CULINARY TALK & TASTING (Hall 4)

 

Ulf Tassilo Muench, thought leader, top chef and food specialist, welcomes exciting guests from the gastro scene on a separate action area on both days of the fair. Other topics include “The trends in catering”, “Zero waste catering” “Next Generation – This is how the next generation ticks” as well as “Caviar – Myth and Truth” and “Desserts in a modular system”. ACTS ON STAGE & Workshop Program (Hall 6)

 

At ACTS ON STAGE, powered by memo-media, presenter Sebastian Messerschmidt presents four live shows daily with a varied mix of fast-paced artistry, comedy, magic, music and great beats. Among other things, you will be enthusiastic Acrobatic artist

Tim Höfel with his special BMX Flatland show act, master magician Matthias Rauch with tailor-made illusions and trapeze artist Anna Ehrenreich with breathtaking moments. The Berlin artist duo FELICE & CORTES presents a thrilling performance of music, juggling and scenic elements. The intensive workshops with Kerstin Meisner, Lukas Stelter, Annabell Whitney, Bettina Eichblatt and Peter Schaul, among others, will also start again in 2023 on both days of the fair.

 

On-site events for the next generation

 

Personnel development, further education and the promotion of young talent in the event industry are important focal points at BOE INTERNATIONAL: With the new BrandEx Fresh platform, the trade fair complements its junior program and offers young talents suggestions and insights into the event and MICE industry on the first day of the fair.

 

BrandEx Fresh: Under the motto “Departure”, experienced but also young talents were able to submit their applications for the BrandEx Awards in 18 categories as part of the International Festival of Brand Experience. One of the categories is the BrandEx Fresh. In addition, a special young talent program BrandEx Fresh will take place for the first time on the 11th. January 2023 from 11:00 a.m. in Hall 5 at BOE INTERNATIONAL. BrandEx Fresh relies on the popular formats “Employer Herzblatt” and “Agency Pitch”: At Arbeitgeber Herzblatt, three employers “bue” for the favor of a young professional, while agencies can present themselves attractively to the next generation in five minutes at the Agency Pitch. FORUM EVENT: The hybrid junior congress for young professionals, organized by the IST University of Management in cooperation with Messe Dortmund, will take place on the 12th. January 2023 from 09:00 to 14:00 in the seminar rooms of Messe Dortmund. Under the motto “Plan F”, which stands for Forum, Fair, Festival, Film, Future, Fantasy and Fun, is already 6. The second BOE edition offers information and reading fun on current trend and industry topics to get in the mood for the upcoming BOE. In addition, a raffle in which two attractive further training courses – for personal qualification or a young talent in your own company – can be won.

 

Live on Stage: BrandEx Award 2023

Since 2019, the BrandEx Award has honored outstanding creative achievements in the live communications industry. This year 2023, the coveted trophies in gold, silver and bronze will be awarded for the fifth time. Of a total of 87 submissions, the top-class Jury selected 23 projects in 15 categories and awards the renowned prizes live at the award show on the eve of BOE INTERNATIONAL from 8:00 p.m. Initiators of the German creative competition are the Study Institute for Communication, Messe Dortmund, fwd:

Celebrating together: the BOE Night

At the end of the first day of the BOE INTERNATIONAL trade fair, on the 11th. January 2023 from 7:00 p.m. the popular BOE Night will take place as usual. The relaxed party meeting place for exhibitors and visitors offers an attractive mix of networking, business, lifestyle and music in a cozy atmosphere. The live band Gemini provides a party atmosphere with chill-out lounge to brass formation and from dance floor DJ to piano duo. Guests are spoiled with culinary delights by Ulf Tassilo Muench and the Culinary Delights Connection.
