From 14th to 17th February 2023, the international natural cosmetics and organic food industry will meet for its annual industry meeting. Then VIVANESS, international trade fair for natural cosmetics, will take place parallel to BIOFACH, the world’s leading trade fair for organic food, in Nuremberg. “VIVANESS and BIOFACH are the linchpin for novelties, trends, innovations and food for thought. In the exhibition halls and in the congress, the community meets, discusses the currently most relevant topics and exchanges ideas!” says Danila Brunner, head of VIVANESS and BIOFACH. A special highlight every year are the two funded joint stands for young innovative companies, the Sonderschau Breeze and the news stands. It is impressive and inspiring to experience the dynamics of the young start-ups in a joint conversation and to discover products of newcomers and pioneers at the new age!”

If you look at the product range of start-ups at the joint stand “Innovation made in Germany” of VIVANESS 2023, you will repeatedly come across terms such as: Solid Cosmetics, Zero Waste, Circular Beauty, Vegan or Pure. But among start-ups, organic is lived beyond the product. Behind the companies are philosophies, ideas and strategies that strive for holistically sustainably developed products as a result. From the supply chain to production to corporate culture.
Paving the Path – for stronger climate protection!
It is not only one’s own sustainable production that is on the agenda for newcomers. By financing various projects, the start-ups actively contribute to climate protection. Teethlovers, for example, plants a tree seedling for each product sold, the trees bind CO2 and supply living beings with oxygen and other nutrients. At VIVANESS, they present their dental care powders in sustainable packaging. The start-up Rose and Ann covers its own energy needs from green electricity. Consumption is recorded and continuously reduced. The newcomers Spirit of Rügen use solar energy from their own photovoltaic system and keep transport routes short by predominantly using regional ingredients, or growing them directly in the medicinal herb garden themselves.
Paving the Path – for inclusion and respect for humans and animals!
Many start-ups reduce packaging and ingredients to the essentials – all ingredients contained are also active ingredients of the product. MARI&ANNE, for example, also relies on “Mach Mal More Less.” For their products, they use the smallest possible amount of water and 100% natural ingredients, which are also biodegradable and vegan or vegetarian. The company has also set itself the goal of setting up a company that promotes people with Down syndrome. The drive for this was provided by daughter Marina, who herself has Down syndrome and for whom an official inclusion workplace was created in 2021.
The start-up ili elua cares about protecting health. At VIVANESS 2023, they bring their natural sun care, which meets their holistically sustainable standards – from the ingredients to the corporate culture. With their products, they support the patient program look good feel better of DKMS LIFE. The aim is to increase the well-being of people with cancer and thus give them more joie de vivre.
The nakt fabric forge also uses 100% vegetable ingredients for its make-up wipes. The wipes are PETA vegan certified and therefore free of animal testing. The start-up also relies on local production under fair conditions and works with the Darmstadt Diakonie to support institutions for the socially disadvantaged.
Paving the Path – for species protection and the safeguarding of biodiversity!
The start-up 4PeopleWhoCare is also on the road with a mission. It has set itself the task of protecting biodiversity on the doorstep. Therefore, 4PeopleWhoCare reinvests with every product sold in nature from which it extracts the raw materials and plants flowering meadows throughout Germany with the help of different cooperation partners. These are not only optical eye-catchers, but also effective CO2 storage and habitat for a variety of insects. As pollinators and food basis of many living beings, they contribute massively to securing the biological balance. At VIVANESS 2023, visitors can try out the product line of solid care products. The hand cream thumb feast, most recently awarded the Best New Product Award VIVANESS in 2022, will be just as much in your luggage as some novelties.
