The upcoming FISCH & ANGEL from the 24th to the 29th January 2023 again presents a compact market overview of fishing with everything the fishing heart desires. Whether professional or beginner – here you can inform yourself on various action areas, talk shop, discover new products in the areas of fishing equipment and fishing accessories as well as clothing and take them home for the next fishing trip. Dortmund, 23.01.2023 – How to increase your chances of catch and a lot of tips, lovers of fishing will learn first-hand from numerous prominent fishing professionals at FISCH & ANGEL 2023. In addition to various stand activities, the well-known industry meeting for the fishing scene also has two themed forums ready:
Fishing forum
Top experts report on their experiences and give valuable tips on equipment, baits and techniques that increase the chances of catching in pike, perch, catfish and Co. Uwe Pinnau, specialized in predatory fish species and president of the German Pike Fishing Club, explains in “Successful pike fishing” about various methodological approaches and the right equipment. “Waller fishing in Germany” is the theme of Benjamin Gründer, a respected carp and catfish professional. Specialist editor and pike perch expert Birger Domeyer knows how best to get “perch in winter” on the fishing rod. Veit Wilde, also a pike perch connoisseur, explains that forum visitors to the secrets of pike perch fishing, explains that “big” are no coincidence. Trout expert Michael Kahlstadt reports in “Ultralight with spoon and rubber” about his proven knowledge of the use of rubber baits and spoon fishing. In “Topwater fishing – the adrenaline rush for spin fishermen”, fishing and predatory fish specialist Benedict Götzfried deals with one of the most exciting ways of fishing.
As always, the German Pike Fishing Club will also come to the fair with interesting material and photo documentation. Valuable expert advice can be found on top on the topic of “Permanent burner pike – Germany’s best-known freshwater fish and how to catch it”.
Sea Fishing Forum
Here, sea anglers can be inspired in lectures and films about fishing in salty waters. A special highlight is the lecture by Danny Hrubesch, the world champion in surf fishing. The son of football legend Horst Hrubesch shares his know-how on the basics of surf fishing in the North Sea and Baltic Sea as well as international waters. Horst Hennings, TV fishing star, European champion in boat fishing and multiple German champion, presents the highlights of the TV series “Rute raus, der Spaß beginnt!” with the top-price targets for marine anglers. In his lecture “FFAROEAS – Islands in Fish” he also raves about the fish-rich waters of the Danish Faroe Islands. Other film contributions from the media&fishing team are about fishing in Norway, alternatively with the pose and leadless with stones. Fishing professional Thorsten Ahrens also devotes himself to this aspect and also talks about Iceland’s fish species diversity in another lecture.
Looking over the shoulders of professionals: fly tying and rod construction
Experienced fly ties travel to Dortmund to show their craftsmanship. The Europe-wide well-known fly binder Igor Stancev from Macedonia is eagerly awaited. As a binder teacher, he regularly presents instructions for tying dry and wet flies in the magazine Fisch&Fliege. Sascha Pütz, one of the best-known salmon fly binders in Germany and Europe, is also part of the party. He makes his classic salmon flies in up to 14 hours and made it into the renowned book by Ken Sawada, one of the greatest in salmon fishing. Third in the league is Hans-Jürgen Baum, a welcome guest at international trade fairs and an expert in tying mayflies and nymphs. Theo van de Poll is also there. His passion is twisted leaders in different strengths and lengths for fly fishing.Philipp Goralski completes the team of experts and shows his skill in tying sea trout flies and streamers. Under expert guidance, you can also try fly tying yourself – fun that is especially fun for children! Or you can simply exchange ideas with the specialists about artificial re-image of baits.
The elaborate work processes in rod construction as well as the various possibilities for conversion and repair are also shown live fly fisherman Edgar Lange, ‘skewer builder’ out of passion.
