Transform your home into a green oasis and turn your own garden into a feel-good place. This year, visitors will find everything they need again at HAUS-GARTEN-FREIZEIT and the Mitteldeutsche handwerksmesse. The trade fair double is back after two years of pandemic-related break and transforms the Leipzig exhibition center from the 11th to the 19th. February into a colorful inspirational landscape. Ideal for all visitors with a green thumb – and those who still want to discover it.
Finally sitting in the green again – in the gray winter this desire grows every day. The HOUSE GARDEN LEISURE is for the start of spring! The colorfully blooming garden landscape in Hall 1 helps for the right feeling. The adventure world “Green Living” is brimming with ideas and suggestions to transform the house, yard and garden into green oases. But also socially relevant topics such as sustainability, plant and insect protection, tree pruning or urban horticulture are illuminated in the world of experience.
Allotment very big
Since the beginning of the HAUS-GARTEN-FREIZEIT, the city association of Leipzig allotment gardeners has been an integral part of the exhibitors and again this year the experts present a lovingly designed garden area in Hall 1. Kai Voß, responsible for public relations and gardening advice at the city association, promises numerous event highlights, such as nesting box construction, nursery or creative tree slices painting. “Our fruit juice tasting is also always very popular. We also present our specialist consultant counter. Here, visitors can ask our professionals every possible kind of question about the garden,” says Voß.
The offer is supplemented by various specialist lectures. In the event room M1 at the exhibition center, professional and gentle tree pruning demonstrations with the experts Olaf Weidling and Ralf Hesse will be shown from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. In addition, the public is offered a professional soil analysis by electrolyte measurement to study the soil nutrient balance. Daily different lectures address topics such as fertilizing and composting, raised beds, mixed crops, optimal irrigation, gardening in times of climate change and biodiversity in the city.
Special trade fair offers for garden lovers
“Leipzig is simply our prelude to the garden year!” emphasizes Ingeborg Keyzers, who, as a long-standing exhibitor, is already planning her stand at the next HAUS-GARTEN-FREIZEIT at full speed. KEYZERS supplies all hobby gardeners with a wide range of berry bushes, ornamental trees, flower bulbs, perennials and practical accessories. “Of course at trade fair prices,” as Ingeborg Keyzers adds. The company WAMA promises exclusive offers and bestsellers for raised beds and greenhouses. Trends such as self-sufficiency are taken up here, because some of the greenhouses offer enough space to supply a two-person household. At the same time, visitors will find suggestions to secure the interested views of the garden neighbors thanks to stylish outdoor furniture. For example, from the company Kötz Wohneinrichter, which brings numerous product highlights to the HAUS-GARTEN-FREIZEIT with attractive fireplaces, island loungers, outdoor kitchens and beach chairs. Scandinavic Wood Art provides warm cosiness with an attractive barbecue kota (barbecue hut) and outdoor saunas – all made exclusively by hand with certified quality wood from Scandinavia. A complete overview of the exhibitors from the adventure world “Green Living” and the respective stand numbers can be found in the exhibitor directory on the homepage of HAUS-GARTEN-FREIZEIT.
