【DE】Ladies’ World puts motorcyclists in the spotlight

Friedrichshafen – According to the Federal Motor Transport Authority, almost 4.4 million women in Germany had a motorcycle driver’s license in 2021. “The female sex has not only been sitting on the back of the motorcycle for a long time, but is exploring the roads even on two wheels,” says Petra Rathgeber, project manager of the Motorradwelt Bodensee. From 27th to 29th January 2023, bike fans will experience action, offers and trends around motorcycles, scooters, trikes and quads for three days at the largest motorcycle fair in southern Germany. The newly established Ladies’ World focuses on the constantly growing biker community with lectures and networking opportunities.

Whether still a freshman or already a street expert, Ladies’ World offers interested women the space and the opportunity to exchange ideas and network with like-minded people. On stage in Hall B4, motorcyclists, bloggers, influencers and specialists from the scene have their say and report on their adventures and experiences. From clothing to motorcycle trips to tours and training: Participating exhibitors also present current offers that can keep up with the requirements of today’s riders.

On the road with passion: Scene ladies are looking forward to exchange

“Each of us drives something different: Some live for the racetrack, organize motorcycle meetings, have built up their business around the topic of motorcycles or are simply enthusiastic touring drivers. No matter which ‘corner’ woman comes from, we have a common topic: The fun of motorcycling,” says Tanja Bobell, who is on stage for the Ladies’ World as well as for the club ‘Lipstick & Gasoline – The Rockerettes’ at the fair. As a long-time motorcyclist, the media designer is very active in the scene and is looking forward to the upcoming trade fair event: “It is a great honor for me to have always been present at the Motorradwelt Bodensee for so many years and to present ourselves as a club. It’s nice that there will be this ladies area at the fair in 2023 and we can show with our contribution: There are so many facets around the topic of ‘girls and motorcycles’ – here is something for everyone!”

Empowerment through motorcycling

In addition to the exchange with passionate riders, the focus is above all on providing practical tips and tricks to newcomers in the motorcycle world and encouraging them to try them out. “From the concept of the Ladies’ World, I promise myself – no, I expect – that women feel encouraged to do ‘their thing’. Treat yourself to a bit of freedom, to have fun, to enjoy freedom, to build up self-confidence,” explains Charlotte Matzner, who will be working at the fair for the exhibitor x-log with the curve trainer kurvX, among other things. For the initiator of “We Want To Break Free”, an association of Moto enthusiasts, the motorized two-wheelers have also played a major role professionally. “I come from a domain mainly occupied by women: nursing. The responsibility for the product kurvX has opened the door to a men’s world, motorcycling. I feel very comfortable in this world as a woman and I pass this on to women: Do something. Dare. Connect. Be you! A concept like the Ladies’ World can make a big difference – especially in the long term!” Monika Nagel, passionate rider and author of “Mo’s Bike Blog”, is also full of energy: “As a blogger, I have been a regular visitor to the Motorradwelt Bodensee for eight years. It’s my favorite motorcycle fair. Being there now with your own ‘meeting place’ has come true. I hope for a further step towards more visibility.” Furthermore, she wants to give interested or undecided women of all ages assistance on the subject of motorcycles and encouraging them to “motorcycle dream”.
