【DE】SEE YOU AGAIN IN LEIPZIG: TRADE FAIR NETWORK INTEC, Z AND GRINDTEC IS READY FOR THE RESTART

From 7th to 10th March 2023, the industrial fairs Intec, Z and GrindTec invite you to the first important industry meeting place of the year for production technology in the metalworking, supplier and tool industry in Europe. On the four days of the fair, the international trade fair network depicts the complete value chain of metalworking in the halls of the Leipzig Trade Fair. The exhibitors – including numerous renowned market leaders from Germany and abroad – present their high-performance new products at the trade fair trio. In addition, the practice-oriented specialist program sets forward-looking impulses and promotes the transfer of knowledge on the top topics of the industry.

“Finally Intec and Z in the exhibition halls again: We are very pleased that our industrial fairs can start again after the pandemic-related break. An attractive and extensive trade fair offer awaits visitors. In addition, GrindTec enriches the trade fair network for the first time – with its focus on tool processing and tool grinding, it fits perfectly with Intec and Z. In March 2023, our international trade fair trio will become an attraction for the metalworking industry as well as the supplier and tool industry, says Markus Geisenberger, Managing Director of Leipziger Messe.

Right now, it is important for exhibitors and visitors that industrial fairs such as Intec, Z and GrindTec take place again, emphasizes Markus Geisenberger: “Exhibitors and visitors make it clear that they urgently need exchange at our international trade fairs. Finally, the exhibitors can present the developed novelties and solutions live again. In addition, the industry is concerned with maintaining and re-adjusting supply chains, countering cost increases and becoming more resilient. Our trade fair trio is the ideal platform for intensive exchange on these topics and advance projects.”

Intec: Diverse offer includes all stages of metalworking

Important market leaders in the machine tool industry as well as renowned suppliers of precision tools such as BIMATEC SORALUCE, CERATIZIT, EMUGE, FANUC, GROB-WERKE, Gühring, HEDELIUS, Hermle, Igus, MAPAL, NILES-SIMMONS, OKUMA, Paul Horn, Profiroll Technologies, SEW, SCHUNK, TRUMPF and ZOLLER will be present at Intec 2023. The attractive trade fair offer consists mainly of machine tools, machine components, tools and clamping devices as well as production automation and robotics. Companies from the major German mechanical engineering centers Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, North Rhine-Westphalia and Saxony are once again showing a strong presence. As of today, around ten percent of exhibitors travel from abroad. Most international exhibitors come from Switzerland, Italy and Austria.

Z: Tailor-made platform for suppliers and industrial service providers

Z again offers suppliers of the lower and medium production stages as well as industrial service providers the tailor-made platform for their positioning on the market. The focus of the Z is on supplies for mechanical and plant engineering, for the automotive and automotive industry as well as for toolmaking and other industrial sectors. As part of the multifaceted exhibition, trade visitors can obtain targeted information about new products, materials and processing processes, universally applicable or special parts and components as well as contract manufacturing and services for various stages of industrial production. As with previous editions, the supplier fair again has a high proportion of foreign countries: Around 25 percent of the exhibitors come from abroad – mainly from Poland, Italy and the Czech Republic.

GrindTec: User meeting for tool processing and tool grinding

“As part of GrindTec 2023 in Leipzig, the exhibitors will present new solutions for tool processing and tool grinding, and the requirement profile of the precision tool mechanic industry will be mapped. This year’s focus is on grinding machines, tool processing systems, their automation, as well as abrasives,” says Prof. Dr. Wilfried Saxler, Managing Director of the professional carrier of GrindTec, FDPW. He describes a trend that will shape the future processes in the industrial and craft businesses of the industry as follows: “We must and will deal intensively with adaptive structures that focus on the interaction of man and machine with artificial intelligence. At GrindTec, examples of how the complex system of requirements, measurement data, machine and workpiece to be processed can be smoothly organized through novel control and software concepts. Visitors can look forward to new technologies that organize workflows more efficiently, faster and less error-prone.” He also considers laser technology to be very relevant to the industry. “It is increasingly used to process hard and high-hard cutting materials and constantly works better and more precisely.” In addition, visitors can look forward to innovations in the fields of measurement and clamping technology as well as peripheral systems.

Focus on new products and further developments of the exhibitors

At the upcoming Intec, exhibitors from Germany and abroad will once again present both high-performance innovations and smart, innovative developments from the machine tool sector as well as from production automation. The exhibitor INDEX-Werke presents visitors with the new TRAUB TNX220 turning milling center, which, among other things, is making a leap in performance with an extended turning length of 900 A stable machine design, dynamic axes and easy to use – according to EMAG, these are the cornerstones of the vertical lathe VL 2, which can be seen at Intec. The technology and solution provider Industrie-Partner brings Robo Operator® to Leipzig: It is an independent, mobile and flexible automation solution for CNC machine tools and assembly machines.

Visitors can also look forward to innovations at the exhibition stands of the exhibitors of supplier fair Z. The company all-tight thread protection arrives with a world premiere: Its new sustainable thread protection is made for the first time from raw materials that are otherwise used in surgery. This conserves resources without compromising quality, the exhibitor informs. At Cold Jet’s booth, trade visitors in Leipzig can find out about the range of surface preparation and cleaning solutions – these include the PCS® 60 and i3 MicroClean 2 cleaning systems.

Bruker Alicona, among others, shows a novelty at GrindTec: Components can be measured area-based and high resolution with the new 3D measuring instrument InfiniteFocusG6 regardless of size, material, geometry, weight and surface treatment. Heinz Berger Maschinenfabrik presents the new generation of the peripheral grinding machine RFS/RT/NT for the first time. According to the exhibitor, the grinding machine achieves a surface and/or chamfer grinding on circular knives, saw blades and discs in the pendulum or puncture process. Due to an additional grinding axle, subsequent grinding can be processed in one clamping – so in one work cycle the surface of the workpiece can be sanded flat and a roller can be worked on to the cutting edge, reports the company.

Practice-oriented specialist program enriches the exhibition offer

The practical specialist program is also an important part of the trade fair trio and helps to find answers to questions about the transformation of industry. The special shows and specialist forums “Additive Manufacturing – Evolution of a Modern Technology”, “Sensors – Use and Perspectives in Manufacturing” and “Fuel Cell Hub – Added Value through Hydrogen” shed light on future topics of the industry. Both at the international cooperation forum “Welcome to Saxony!” as well as at the CONTACT Business Meetings, everything revolves around establishing business contacts across national borders. In addition, the entrepreneurial transformation successes of medium-sized world market leaders will be presented at the Industry’s Hidden Champions Conference as part of the trade fair network.

At GrindTec, visitors can expect a specialist program that depicts the versatile facets of tool processing with different theme worlds. For example, the GrindTec FORUM offers specialist lectures on highly topical topics in the industry. In addition, scientific institutions in the industry present the latest state of research and development at the GrindTec CAMPUS. The TOOLGRINDER CHALLENGE 2023 competition is looking for the best precision tool mechanic of the year – and the GrindTec INNOVATION AWARD honors innovative, efficient and sustainable products, processes and services.
