Climate protection, sustainable living, the transformation of global food systems – the professional accompanying and congress program of the International Green Week negotiates the currently most important issues of the agricultural, nutrition and horticultural industries.
At the beginning of the year, the International Green Week invites you from the 20th to the 29th. January 2023 to Germany’s largest industry meeting place. A total of more than 300 symposia, specialist seminars, congresses and professional discussion forums take place within the framework of the IGW. These are accompanied by numerous networking events that promote the internal exchange of the industry.

- Global Forum for Food and Agriculture
18th to 21st January 2023, among others CityCube Berlin
” Transforming nutrition systems: A worldwide response to multiple crises” – under this motto, Cem Özdemir, Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture, invites around 2,000 experts to the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA) in Berlin. The GFFA is the leading international conference on central future issues of the global agriculture and food industry. The political highlight of the meeting is the world’s largest informal conference of agricultural ministers on the 21st. January 2023. About 70 agriculture ministers from all over the world will adopt a joint political communiqué here.

Future Forum Rural Development: Land.Kann.Klima
25th and 26th January 2023 at CityCube Berlin
The Future Forum Rural Development is the largest national forum for rural development issues in Germany. It is organized by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) as part of the International Green Week. “Land.Can.Climate.” is this year’s motto. In around 30 specialist forums, about 1,200 actors from politics, administration, institutions, associations, science and civil society discuss many facets of climate protection in rural areas.

Fuels of the future – 20. International Congress on Renewable Mobility
23rd and 24th January 2023 at CityCube Berlin
The International Congress “Fuels of the Future” is the leading event of the German, European and international biofuel industry and an important discussion forum for the development of renewable mobility. Over two days, about 600 experts from raw material collection and processing, the biofuel, petroleum and automotive industries, the chemical industry, the transport and logistics industry, certification systems as well as politics, science and research will meet within the IGW. GAA conference: Technology is key – Eastern Europe and Central Asia as contributors to global food security

Eastern Europe and Central Asia have proven over the past ten years that they are able to contribute to global food security. In order to exploit the potential for the production of the future, the use of modern agricultural technologies is necessary. The German Agribusiness Alliance (GAA) will discuss the role of Eastern Europe and Central Asia for global food security on the 20th. Innovative products and services present selected startups in the agricultural and food industry at the fifth IGW Startup Days. This is where the young entrepeneurs compete to convince the expert jury of their ideas. For the first time, the pitches on which the startups present themselves take place on the stage of the ErlebnisBauernhof and are therefore accessible to both professional audiences and private visitors. Future workshop agricultural and food industry 2023

Regional Star Award

The trade journal Lebensmittel Praxis and the Green Week award the industry prize “Regional Star” in 2023. The best concepts for marketing regional products that convince from sustainable aspects (ecologically sensible, socially responsible and economically successful) are awarded.

Industry meeting with that certain something
From forest owner reception to flower hall reception – the International Green Week is an important forum for the agricultural, nutrition and horticultural industries. The evening receptions of the federal states are also an integral part of the IGW event calendar. A highlight in this year’s event calendar is the BayWa evening on the 20th. January 2023. This year, the global company celebrates its 100th anniversary and heralds the anniversary year at the International Green Week.
Stage program complements specialist forums
For trade visitors, it is worth taking a look at the halls. Because the stage program also includes numerous specialist lectures and discussions on current topics from agriculture, food and horticulture. For example, the Forum Modern Agriculture presents numerous specialist lectures on the topics of biodiversity, the preservation of biodiversity, animal welfare, climate protection and security of supply in the adventure farm. The Federal Association of the German Food Industry presents under the motto “How does the future taste?” exciting insights into the food industry.
