bio austria is organized as an association. The most important part of the organization are the members, who are also the owners: 12,500 Austrian organic farmers.
The members are represented by directly elected delegates. 100 members each elect a delegate. The most important body is the Assembly of Delegates. Their tasks include the election of the chairman or the chairman, the election of the board members and the making of resolutions that affect the bio austria production guidelines, which go far beyond the legal standard .
