EXPO CHICAGO, The International Exposition of Contemporary & Modern Art, features leading international galleries alongside the highest quality platform for contemporary art and culture. In 2023, EXPO CHICAGO will host more than 140 leading international exhibitors at Navy Pier’s Festival Hall. The exposition draws upon the city’s rich history as a vibrant international cultural destination, while engaging the region’s contemporary art community and collector base.

EXPO CHICAGO will host the 10th edition of the in-person exposition on April 13-16, 2023 at Navy Pier. Moving forward, the exposition will be presented annually in April, with April 11-14, 2024 as dates for the 11th edition at Navy Pier. Over the next several months, EXPO CHICAGO will be actively working with global partners and Chicago’s renowned hospitality community to prepare for next year.

The city of Chicago has proudly hosted a global contemporary and modern art exposition for nearly forty years and serves as the site of the first international art fair in the Americas. Since its inception, EXPO CHICAGO has remained dedicated to supporting local, regional, and international arts communities, with strong regional support throughout the Greater Midwest, both US coasts, and maintained a growing international commitment from Europe, Asia, and Latin America.

Entering its tenth year as a leading international art fair, EXPO CHICAGO takes place at historic Navy Pier. The Galleries section features leading international exhibitors presented alongside one of the highest quality platforms for global contemporary art and culture. Additional sections include: EXPOSURE featuring solo and two-artist presentations represented by galleries ten years and younger, PROFILE presenting solo booths and focused projects that showcase ambitious installations and tightly focused thematic exhibitions, Editions + Books showcasing limited editions and publications offering a diverse array of print media and object-based practices, and Special Exhibitions featuring select regional, national, and international non-profit institutions, museums, and organizations.

EXPO CHICAGO 2023 will welcome more than 140 leading galleries representing 25 countries and 65 cities from around the world. Countries represented at the 2022 exposition include: Argentina, Azerbaijan, Brazil, Canada, China, Colombia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Peru, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, and United States of America.

Dedicated to rigorous and challenging programming, EXPO CHICAGO hosts a series of initiatives including year-round digital events and partner programming on our microsite (program.expochicago.com), the /Dialogues panel series, featuring provocative artistic discourse with leading artists, curators, designers, and arts professionals on the current issues that engage them; IN/SITU, featuring large-scale sculptures, site-specific, video and new media works installed throughout Navy Pier; IN/SITU Outside, a curated selection of public artworks installed throughout the City of Chicago; OVERRIDE | A Digital Billboard project in collaboration with City of Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE), in which EXPO CHICAGO Exhibitors and artists are invited to exhibit throughout Chicago’s City Digital Network (CDN); and Curatorial Initiatives, which engages and provides exciting opportunities to mid-career and established curators; and more.
